5 pointsHmmm A colleague - and former BBC journo - with a fairly hard-headed approach to this says she thinks Meghan "the new Diana, no doubt" In which case you'd give it 5-10 years tops and probs nearer the lower end Tbh - I'm not so sure and think Harry's relative unimportance regarding the role of king might give the pair of them more freedom to have something approaching a normal marriage - y'know taking it in turns to shout "cunt!" as the other one runs up the stairs

3 pointsOn the one occasion he visited near me he met the local Conservative MP for lunch in a curry house and shifted more for lunch than many people do in the same place for dinner.

1 pointMeghan and Harry are compatible. They're both very high energy and ambitious in life and I see them having children soon as well, I don't think they'll ever divorce.

1 pointI saw part of a show on Sister Wendy's life today. I am not sure when this one was made but she spends at least some of her time in a wheelchair now. They interviewed her Mother Superior who said Sister Wendy joined the convent after a physical and mental collapse and basically said she is still borderline mentally unstable (so her reclusive life at the convent is helpful for her mind).

1 pointOn the day after a storm's kicked through, a good slice of Bressa Creeting Cake - their wonderful xylophone and bass enfused Palm Singing will help me remember the glories of Summers past. Then, I think I'll give On Avery Island by Neutral Milk Hotel another spin. Oh yes.

1 pointSorry Cat, wouldn't be sober enough to crash one of those either. * earliest memory of Oban..... 1985, up in a mini bus to play darts and basically all day sesh. Into Aldo's the bookies, Grand National, Maori Venture 28/1 £20 e/w, pumped out in the 4th round I think at the darts, collected a wedge and went home with about a hundred quid, ie whit I left the house with. Also, got thrown out of Ollie's for singing The Sash lol. Vague memories of straight vodka all the way down the road and in house for 8am. Avoided Oban for years after that, until going to Mull or Barra or Tiree. And one of those times got stopped on the main drag twice in 50 yards by barmen I knew from Campbeltown and Edinburgh lol. Then got on the Tiree ferry, on a Sunday, to be telt 11am for booze. It was another campbeltown ex barman , winner. * normally calmac open the bar as soon as you cast off, no matter the time.

1 pointEden spent most of his Premiership up to the gills in amphetamines after botched surgery iirc. Also last 25 years Major, Blair, Brown, Cameron, May -not exactly a golden age of leadership there. Looking at those lists, the times had Lord North as worst (which is reasonable enough), Parris goes for Brown and McIntyre for Chamberlain (which denotes a degree of bias on their parts imo) and Riddell goes for Viscount Goderich, a complete historical non-entity. I'd err towards Lord North, but then we've had 240 odd years to assess his unleashing Americans on the world (), whereas David Camerons flaws are still relatively new, historically. Plenty of time for that reputation to plummet in the future! Really, there's far more mediocre or forgettable ones. And I don't know what it says that I could name all 45 US Presidents, but struggle on 20 or so UK PMs. Probably that we get bombarded by US history.

1 pointHonestly though, me and me mate would always go in the men’s bogs in the pub because the queue for the ladies was always massive and we drank pints of lager and once you’ve broken the seal you have to go! And there’d be blokes standing at the troughs pissing on their slip-ons while we slopped through the puddles into the one cubicle and the blokes would try and look over the top and me mate would be ready with a punch to their face as it appeared over the door. Oh how I loved being a teenager!

1 pointThe posts on this thread are eclectic enough it might be worth linking up a decent blog site I've mentioned occasionally. Mr Weird and Wacky tends to post stuff that lives up to the name and has two linked sites in which he trawls rarer stuff (especially keen on Aussie punk of late) Link: http://mrweirdandwacky.blogspot.co.uk/

1 pointI’m a girl and I’m more than happy to have separate bogs because I’ve been in men’s toilets (to write my phone number on the walls, just in case Deathray was wondering), and they FUCKING STINK.

1 pointThink I mentioned it before, but the absolute Golden Era of DL singing up was the 6 weeks from December 2014 to mid January 2015. In that time frame we had Sir Creep (12-2-14), BuriedInCarolina (1-6-15), Gossip Gabe (1-8-15), Phantom (of the Midway) (1-9-15) and YoungWillz (1-16-15) all create accounts. [Hell, I feel like an outlier lol] I was going to say 'excluding the original few months' the website was created, but I'm happy to put those 6 weeks up against any 12 week span, frankly. Those five profiles have accounted for 19,000 posts. SC
