3 pointsWatching bbc4 ATM. I remember as a kid watching her show on the tellybox in the 60's/70's. Born 1934, aged 85 now. Might be worth a punt?

3 pointsOccasionally I check up on her. She's a huge star internationally. She seems to be doing okay for now. But she could be on the list in 1-2 years.

2 pointsThe four top Twitter trends at the moment, as a result of it being brought to light that Trump has seen 10-figure losses and, tax-wise, despite being a “billionaire”, paid less than half what I pay every month in the years 2016 and 17, and nothing for 10 years of the last 15. I’m going out on a limb here, but a) Trump will be quite biblically wound up by the #TrumpIsBroke hashtag, and b) This whole thing is unlikely to serve him well voter-wise. Has Biden released his tax returns at all, do we know?

2 pointsI love how it's been nearly seventeen years since this person started the thread. Philip has looked frail for the last thirty years and in an interview from the mid-1990s, when asked about living to 100, answered "bits and pieces are already falling off me" At this point I'm starting to like him because he was always different. No idea what's his diagnosis but he's someone I like to hear from, causing gaffes and behaving weirdly everywhere he goes. Or then he's just a relic from times when jokes used to be like that.

2 pointsI always confused her and Stella Stevens, maybe, back in their younger days, they were similar looking. I just looked up Stella Stevens and, apparently, she is in a nursing home with alzheimer's. If that info is elsewhere on here then so be it.

1 pointWrong thread, again. This is really only meant for persons whose pages have been edited to say they have died when there are no other sources to back it up. Yuri Orlov's death on Wikipedia is sourced. English report here. And if you copy and paste his Russian name into Google, it returns dozens of news sources about his death. When there's a report, regardless of whether it's from a big newspaper like the Guardian or the Telegraph or a small independent site, then it goes in the corresponding thread according to their notability. We have a scientist thread and an activist one. And if you can't choose where to post it because the person concerned covers various fields, then there's the general Deaths in 2020 thread.

1 pointIf this were everbody's wake up song, the world would be a better place: By the way, Nana will turn 86 on October 13. She is still very well known and respected in Germany and if she dies once it will be big in the News.

1 pointIt might be a tad hypocritical, but then David Attenborough is beloved in that very rare way that he could probably fart on the Queen and people would defend him. It's the Johnny Cash/Jane Fonda scale again. Johnny Cash spoke out against the Vietnam War, he was a much loved public figure so got leeway with any hypocritical elements in that. Jane Fonda wasn't, so didn't. David Attenborough is a much loved public figure so he gets leeway with any hypocritical elements in his public speaking. Jeremy Corbyn was widely seen as a cunt, so doesn't. Simple.

1 pointOn combing through this... The link to Biden’s “racism”. This, from a couple of decades ago, was a point about underprivileged individuals who turn to crime needing help getting on the straight and narrow, not about race. Here he is recently, showing how racist he is. No evidence of misogyny, no evidence of peedophilia or even paedophilia, just evidence of someone who’s too tactile and needs telling this to avoid gross exaggerations like that clip from the heavily partisan YouTube channel who posted that clip. As a comparison, here’s a list of sexual misconduct cases against Trump. That’s what we’ve got to think about, just what exactly we’re comparing here. Biden doesn’t have an anti-LGBT stance. Much like many politicians, he’s moved with the times on this. This here might be worth digesting, which, aside from explaining how Biden is getting backing from the LGBT perspective, also points out that Pence is still, today, staunchly against same sex marriage, and that Trump is heavily undermining rights that should already be a given in the courts. Biden being a “clueless imbecile“ and a “dementia sufferer” is predominantly him and his stammer. Trump being a clueless imbecile...I genuinely don’t know where to start, nor do I have time to even scratch the surface of the depths of his idiocy. Maybe some bleach would help? I get what you’re saying; you like a shock political result. Sure, there’s entertainment value in that. But there is emphatically not any entertainment value in the ramifications of voting in such a wholly horrendous individual. Bernie Sanders is a self-proclaimed Socialist. Let’s get this clear, this is not, and neither is ‘lefty’ or anything similar, a dirty term. But the question was where is the Marxism in the Democrat party? With these such vast gulfs between both candidates’ undeniable incompetences, you can surely see how easy it is to assume that anyone still so hellbent on smearing Biden and backing Trump is, well, a Trump supporter. You can claim to be green and all that guff, but your Trump critique boiled down to him being a ‘dope’. That’s why I call dishonesty. But, hey, it’s not my election. I’m done with the US, there are too many problems here in the UK to have enough energy left to care what the country does to itself anymore.
