Frane Selak - 91 Not a celebrity in the usual sense, but death has tried to claim him many times and is known as the world's most unlucky luckiest man. 1962 - Survived a train crash where everyone on board (17) died except him. 1963 - Survived the next year where he was blown out of a plane door and landed in a haystack. Plane crashed and everyone else on board died. 1966 - Bus that he was riding in skidded off the road and into a river drowning four. Selak swam to shore with a few cuts and bruises. 1970 - Car caught fire as he was driving and he managed to escape before the fuel tank blew up. 1973 - Engine of his car was doused with hot oil from a malfunctioning fuel pump, causing flames to shoot through the air vents. Selak's hair was completely singed in this incident, but he was otherwise unharmed. 1995 - Struck by a bus but sustained only minor injuries. 1996 - Avoided head-on collision with a truck on a mountain curve by swerving in a guardrail. He was ejected from the car when the door flew open, (he wasn't wearing a seatbelt) managed to hold onto a tree, and watched his car plummet down 300 ft into a gorge. Death must have wanted to reward him after that because in 2003 he won the lottery and got €900000.

Thought I'd resurrect this as there has been no focus on the silent era recently. Cary needs to be scrubbed off your list @drol. Also, Wiki users have agreed to remove Donnie "Beezer" Smith from the list. There doesn't seem to have been evidence of him being alive for years now. I think the last time something concrete appeared was 2004(?). So that leaves just 5: Don Marion Davis, 102 Silas Hathaway, 101 (though not confirmed alive since he was about 98?) Mildred Kornman, 95 and the two remaining Watson siblings: Billy, 97 and Garry, 92. Will 2021 be the year when the silent era loses the last of its screen cast?

Great list @arghton! Seems we're at the stage where there's nobody in the Royal family, close or extended, older than the Queen and Philip. Not family but worth noting that Dame Frances Campbell-Preston, the Queen Mother's right hand lady and confident, is still alive. Here's a 102nd birthday interview from earlier this month.

Meanwhile, back at the Trump vs Bidon debate Having watched some edited highlights - has to be the worst debate between presidential candidates I've ever seen. I've heard comments from a couple of Americans near-enough apologizing to the rest of humanity that it's come to this in their country. The big winner last night - IMHO - was China

I think that, on balance, Boris Johnson is a bit incompetent. Apologies, I misspoke there. Boris Johnson and his wretched cronies are all the absolute pinnacle of cuntery, and are and always have been dishonest, disorganised, clueless, dangerous, backwards and generally completely fucking useless and the sooner we dispose of this septic nappy full of turds that we call our government the fucking better.

I had the misfortune to play cricket in a public park in bloxwich a few years ago. Once we cleared the dogshit off the wicket some 'travelling folk ' decide to drive their horses at us during the game. Every year we play bloxwich we end up conceding the fixture because the rain dance didnt work.
