That will be a consequence of the stupid decision to allow people to do as they please over Christmas.

I was going to say that'll be in my head all weekend now, but *Googling* Menem Muppets immediately brings up as the first result... Well, that's my 2021 DDP obit should he make it sorted now...

The Muppet Show theme tune would be a nice send-off for Menem Menem

Every time I see or hear his name I think of that song Mahna Manha and just change it to Menem Menem.... Maybe it will get played at his funeral....

I had the vaccine a few days ago along with most of the hospital staff I work with and the only thing to come from from it is your arm aches and get a dry mouth.

This must be a very early report as she’s given birth but they haven’t ‘welcomed’ it yet.

For the first time in 69 years, Kerala Communist leaders K. R. Gowri Amma and V. S. Achuthanandan both fail to cast their votes. Gowri Amma has suffered a fall this summer and is still "recuperating", while Achuthanandan is unable to leave home. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in 2019.

yeah some of them are laughably hard to get right in a basic submission. Fortunately I’m finding this year that I can recall the majority of popular ones like this so the process is less painful. (singer/actress) Cher. is another unnecessarily complex one that no one is going to get right. i think we can probably tidy some of these up but I’m not sure how all the historic data would be affected so it’s probably something for me and @gcreptile to look at in the new year. cheers

He probably perked up while the Aussies (i mean non-indigenous ex-cons) were skittling the Indians (native south Asian indigenous peoples) for 36, the lowest Test innings total since New Zealand (indigenous peoples of Down Under near Aussie with even more annoying accents) set the current record of 26 against England (racist white patriarchal overlords) 65 years ago.

Submitted both my theme teams - once again the space and Jeopardy ones - via the Excel forms. 39 out of 40 names were picked this DDP so I also made sure to double check their precise spellings in the 2020 pages (IE "(footballer) Pelé" - spoiler alert for a twentieth of my Jeopardy theme, there!). It will be the last time I submit the Jeopardy theme, given the crux of it was Trebek's illness, and I dropped the question mark from "Trebek's Final Jeopardy Season?" given the nature changed from speculative to conclusive. After his death I thought of scrapping the 2021 team then and there, but he recorded enough episodes this season for me to build a decent send-off team out of. I will miss the theme though, the limited pool of names you could choose from vastly changing each year made for a fun handicap. Only 5 of my survivors were eligible to be picked again, though 4 of the debutants were also on my previous longlist.

If anyone has access to The Times, Philip Fingers Harrison wrote a Lives Remembered in 2016 on the death of Paul McDowell: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/lives-remembered-c5vnv3pjc So Harrison was still about then. Colin Bowles is an enigma. This article from 2015 references the death of "our pianist" in 1988: https://www.messengernewspapers.co.uk/news/11876778.still-making-music-and-mirth-60-years-on/ But given the whole band was revamped, who knows if Bowles remained with them, or came back. I can't find a probate grant from that year for a Colin Bowles, or even for surrounding years. Nothing showing up on the Gazette for that year either. If he was one of the early ones to go, you'd have thought an obit would be forthcoming. Maybe the above Times Article sheds some light?
