4 pointsMaybe now some people will realise that this list is a very useful one for DDP (or whatever death pool) purposes than just trashing the idea.

2 pointsI thought I would revive this topic and confess that I have recently reverted to a secret vice ..... jigsaw puzzles. Currently doing a version of this painting, a lovely scene of Victorian Londoners having some wintry fun. Sadly the reproduction is overexposed, so the buildings in the background are barely visible, which means doing the sky is going to be a bastard. A Winter’s Day in St James's Park by John Ritchie

1 pointKoivisto's widow Tellervo hospitalized after a fall resulting in a broken hip: https://www.iltalehti.fi/kotimaa/a/84442ec6-3516-4a56-8cd5-fd99e84c37c8 Tellervo Koivisto is also a politician, a former member of parliament and Helsinki alderwoman. She's become very frail lately. (Has also had mental health issues for her entire life but those often aren't a large problem at 91.)

1 pointFor the last time, the Queen’s position has ALWAYS been that she will never abdicate. Do you honestly think she’s lacing her speech with subliminal spoilers? Toilet.

1 pointYeah, I decided in the end to pick Bou’s wish list. Plenty of them amused and interested me, but the fact hers was sold so unashamedly as a shopping list for the Grim Reaper made me laugh a lot. She has nominated Women’s Aid, I think we can all agree a very worthy cause, for a small Christmas gift from the bank account of yours truly. So, potential winners, get your thinking caps on for who you’d like to support...and hold that thought for about 15 years while we wait for the fucking game to end. Don’t worry, I’ll make that donation worth the long wait. Now, I’ll run a final check during the week when I’m hungover and bored and then we’re good to go! Merry Christmas, everyone!

1 pointOkay, entries are now closed. 34 teams are in (well, it’d be 35 if @The Scottish Evangelist fucking replied to me and gave me 2 more names to complete their entry; I’ll give them until the 30th) And later today, I shall pick my favourite entry. Not necessarily the most likely to win, not necessarily the biggest names, but a team that’s interesting, witty, out-there and still plausible. The winner will get to nominate a charity for me to bung a little Christmas donation to. I’ve narrowed it down to about 10 teams. Stay tuned.

1 pointGreat to hear from you again Cat. I always considered you to "voice of good reason" round here. I hope your treatment is smooth and swift. May 2021 be the year of the cat.

1 pointGood luck! Hope to hear soon you've delightfully smashed that cancer like it was a spectre goon in act one of a Connery Bond. I had many options for that analogy but they kept getting more and more obscure.
