Eight games (including markb4 and me) still locked at 0-0 - not the month the massed hordes of eager fans were hoping for. Amazed that my talent, especially Lorimer, have held out so long, frankly. If they persist in such behavior I'm tempted to deny them a midway cuppa and give them a half-time hairdryer of a team talk on the pitch!

Let me rewind this post to give you not just an English language obit, but an interesting read. The Tape Stopped: Lou Ottens, June 21, 1926 to March 9, 2021 (freethoughtblogs.com)

As long suspected (and reported on noticeboards before without any evidence) Silas Hathaway IS dead. He died in 2017 aged 97 or 98 so didn't make the centenary in 2019. Someone explains it on this Voy page, with supporting evidence attached. So there are just three silent era actors alive now – Kornman and the two Watson brothers.

Lou Ottens, the man who invented the cassette tape, has died. He was 94. https://www.volkskrant.nl/nieuws-achtergrond/lou-ottens-1926-2021-was-de-uitvinder-van-het-cassettebandje-maar-vond-de-cd-beter~bc9c01b0/?referrer=https%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FlQxfcoZiu5%3Famp%3D1 (Dutch language obit)

I now hear that it was racist for Archie not to receive a title when as the son of a Duke his parents could have styled him with a courtesy title of Earl or Viscount. That was their choice not to. It seems they wanted him to be Prince! You only become a prince by letter patent, the rules for which were written in 1917. Clearly this conspiracy against Meghan and Harry was hatched by that meddlesome King George V whose been dead since 1936! The grandson of a King may be styled Prince, but as they kinda kicked the shit out of Prince Charles in that interview I doubt the new King will be so willing to give them an upgrade. Also, I didn’t realise that Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Viscount Severn and Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor were black. All grandchildren of the Queen, none of them a Prince or Princess. The problem is Meghan has said it was due to her child’s race, and Twitter seems to have swallowed it. End of rant.

Surprised that Mary didn't have her own thread. She's very well, but Mary is quite the famous baker and is 85 years old. Unlikely to die soon if you ask me, but she deserves it.

RIP Joey best known as a one test wonder. His only test appearance for England came against South Africa in august 1994. Although he took 4 -42 in South Africas 1st innings he was overshadowed by Devon Malcolm who took 9-57 in the second innings as England won the match

Cooney seems to look even more skeletal. How long has she got? http://kabochan.blog.jp/archives/43292122.html And an update on Kabosu "Doge": Still doing well, can walk outside. Seems to have recovered well from the diseases she had last year.

Fascinating. Inventors are always interesting deadpool names. And so, i had to check, the inventor, or well, one of the main inventors, of the CD is also still alive, James Russell at 89/90 years old: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Russell_(inventor) Another big contributor, David Paul Gregg, has been dead for a while now though.

Been there, LFN. As you describe. When I had my appendix removed, I woke from anesthesia slumber due to some strange painful ... WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ... as they removed the catheter. Oh the fun didn't stop, as about 16 hours later and a bladder ready to burst cuz I hadn't urinated my numerous IVs, the doctor threatened me with re-insertion of said catheter if I didn't produce 400ml in the next 15 minutes or so. I went into the loo and chose grinning and bearing my pissing razor blades over my alternative destiny. Nearly 550ml later, I was released and went home. SC

Brian 'the Colonel' Robinson, who was the draftsman for the 'Crime of the Century', a theft of 6,800 gold ingots, diamonds and cash, has died penniless. He was 78. Robinson was cheated out of his share of the haul. He also spent 25 years in prison. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/6798366/brains-behind-26million-brinks-mat-bullion-robbery-dies-penniless/?utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=scottishsuntwitter&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1615325550

Always keep an eye on your own hits. You certainly don’t want to have no, no, no, no points despite picking someone for this cup round. Anyways, Peacock is a unique for the banker, which gets him to lead CalebH for now. Still multiple ties without points, which is probably due to the continued survival of many popular cup picks, but that’s how it is sometimes: YorkshireBanker vs CalebH 4 - 0 Grobler vs msc 0 - 0 Djemba Djemba vs alt obits guy 0 - 0 Theoldlady vs deadsox 0 - 0 Perhaps vs ThereWillBeDeaths7 3 - 0 Book vs An Fear Beag 0 - 3 Markb4 vs maryportfuncity 0 - 0 Quim Reaper vs Wormfarmer 0 - 0 HDS vs Clorox Bleachman 3 - 0 DeathByArsenic vs Joey Russ 0 - 0 DevonDeathTrip vs Annami 4 - 0 Gcreptile vs Baby Blue 7 - 0 BuffaloPhil vs CaptainChorizo 0 - 0 Banana vs GreatUncleBulgaria 10 - 0 Spade_Cooley vs Grim Up North 6 - 0 Bibliogryphon vs EtushIsPushingUpTheDaisies 0 - 0

Don't worry, @Alex . Some people don't understand that this thread is supposed to be inclusive, for all of the year's deaths.

Today would have been my dad's 97th birthday but as with most of the men in my ancestral tree, he did not make it out of his seventies. This was Richard in the army 1944

I feel if his doctors consider him like to die within the next few days we would not have got the statement saying he had had a successful procedure.

He's also a walking bouncy castle who's approaching his mid-70s. His last release in the A Song of Ice and Fire series was in 2011 and he's still got two left. He's said that the next one may not be ready in time for a 2021 release(!), which gives me little hope that he'll even finish the series. Did he just get bored and decide to sack it off after HBO gave him a big fuck off cheque to create Game of Thrones? Yes. Does he give a fuck? No. Is he a walking bouncy castle who'll explode before he finishes his work? Probably.
