Italian "Schlager" singer Milva has died after a long illness at 81: https://www.repubblica.it/spettacoli/people/2021/04/24/news/e_morta_milva-297804515/ There exists a photo of me in front of a giant poster of her. It was the 90s, and I was 12 or something. Apparently, in later years she turned to socialist activism and more political songs.

That's not a political definition, it's a pseudo-psychiatric diagnosis that you can get from any toothless old busker with a food and beer-stained Billy Bragg t-shirt on.

@Octopus of Odstock Willie O'Brien Based on the fact that there was only one William O'Brien born in Middlesbrough in 1929, this must be him: William O'Brien b. 1929 Middlesbrough to William O'Brien & Rosalie McGouran m. Joyce H. Newell d. 2015 (aged 86) Doesn't say where he died. However, there are clues: 1) In July 1952, he's listed as a passenger on the steam ship destined for New York from Southampton. This is one year after his professional football career ceased. He's listed as a boiler maker. 2) His wife's family all died in Ontario, Canada and appear to have links to Quebec too. --------------------- Ken McDevitt Living in Blackpool in 2010. No sign of a death since so assume he's still there somewhere. -------------------- Louis Bimpson Alive. Based in Ormskrik, Lancashire as of 2020. -------------------- John Cook Living in Bristol in 2010. Can't find a death since so I assume still alive. -------------------- Keith Thomas Living in Shrewsbury, Shropshire as of 2021. -------------------- Bernard Shaw The family trees are all over the place for this individual so I'm not going to copy and paste what will be an entanglement of false leads, but his own family note he died in Spain. Doesn't say when. -------------------- Roy Evans b. Bernard Royden Evans b. Rotherhithe, Surrey (Hugman's). This could possibly be him. Just says Bernard Evans b. 1929 in Bermondsey, Surrey d. 2016. Doesn't give dates or say where he died, but the GRO confirms it wasn't in England/Wales. Given that there was only one Bernard Evans born in Surrey in 1929, could be him but that's assuming this bland family tree got the year of birth correct for the individual they're referring to. ---------------- Ray Ratcliffe Alive. Still based in St. Helens, Merseyside in 2021. ---------------- John Clowes Still living in Staffordshire in 2010 – Uttoxeter to be precise. Can't find a trace of any subsequent death so assume still living. ---------------- Jimmy Forrest b. James Forrest 14 Nov 1929 Dalkeith, Midlothian (Hugman's) There was a James Forrest born 1927–1929 living in Dalkeith in 2008. There is also a death record for a James Stewart Forrest [note – no middle name on Hugman's so could be a different person?] in 2008 in Midlothian. Could this be him? You'd have to order the certificate to be sure. ---------------- Frank Varney Living in Oxford as of 2005. Can't find a record of death since so assume still living. ---------------- George Price Updated on the Hugman's website since your post to say he died in 1982. Their info: b. George Price 2 Dec 1929 Crewe, England d. Feb 1982 North Carolina, USA I disagree. The individual they're referring to is likely this man: George Curtis Price b. 2 Dec 1929 North Carolina, USA d. Feb 1982 Florida, USA Not the footballer. Another family tree gives us our guy: George Price b. Dec 1929 Crewe/Nantwich, EN Suggests he died in Cheshire at some point. I can't find his death record in the GRO for some reason. This one will merit some more attention. According to that tree, his wife was Joan Elizabeth Bamford b. 6 May 1928 Nantwich, died Jul–Sep 2004 in Cheshire somewhere. ----------------- Johnny Moffatt Not sure. I can tell you where he's definitely NOT – Scotland. There are several John B. Moffatt's in England. One who emigrated to New Brunswick, and a few in the U.S including Vermont. I'm leaning towards alive but who knows. ---------------- That's me done. There was a lot of possible matches on 192 but I didn't post them as they were too sketchy – individuals without middle names or with relatively common names are hard to track down on there, but on the bright side it will mean a few others will be living from the table.

Damn, one of the few living people on my list I gave a 100% probability of dying in the next year was cancer mum Megan Scotcher: https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/local-news/young-mum-two-small-kids-4386355 But then, thin month, she has been charged with fraud for receiving charitable donations, meaning, she probably faked her terminal cancer: https://www.ripleyandheanornews.co.uk/news/crime/derbyshire-woman-charged-with-fraud-offence-3198127 Now, while I need to update the probabilities of my longlist eventually, right now, I only have three people with that 100% left. Bob Dole, Kat Bjelland, and another cancer mum, Lauren Coyle, from Australia, who might actually be dead already.

Gist: Died in his home in Liez, a small town north of Paris, where he lived as a full time painter/artist since the 1970s. Credits him as a writer of great skill, and light touch. He remained a regular actor on French TV, apparently, and wrote books on art and religious art. Had had several exhibitions of his artwork just before the pandemic and seems to have been a popular local figure in that part of France. Died on the 16th April, no cause of death given. In The Avengers episode The Correct Way to Kill, he runs the gentlemans outfitters shop the conspiracy is using.

British character actor and co-creator and writer of the sitcom All Gas And Gaiters, Edwin Apps reportedly dead: https://www.lanouvellerepublique.fr/deux-sevres/marais-peintre-et-scenariste-de-chapeau-melon-et-bottes-de-cuir-edwin-apps-est-decede (Can't translate due to bloody accept terms of use pop up which kills Google Translate). Many comedy roles particularly Whack-O in the late 1950s and Harry Worth shows, Steptoe And Son, but also the odd "serious role" (The Avengers). One of those you'd know if he popped up on your small screen. He was 89.

A couple of articles in Spanish have popped up about the inclusion of Raul Castro on the list this year. It's a far more impressive write-up compared to the recycled tripe coming from the Daily Star. https://www.cuballama.com/blog/deathlist-augura-muerte-de-raul-castro-este-ano/ Looks like it stemmed from some Spanish bloke with 675k followers mentioning it.

@Octopus of Odstock Albert Capstick Still living in North Yorkshire in 2019 – Pontefract to be precise, so still alive unless he's died off radar since. ------------------------- Robert Godwin Living in Crewe, Cheshire in 2013 with his wife Jean. Can't find any trace of a death since so assume still living. ------------------------ Ken Maxwell Died in Victoria, Australia in January 2007 as per this family tree: Birth 11 Feb 1928 • Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland 2 Sources Marriage 18 Jun 1949 • Barrhead, Renfrewshire, Scotland Barrhead Reformist Church / Theresa Emily Reaney Wild Death 11 Jan 2007 • Bundoora, Victoria, Australia Bundoora Extended Care, buried in Yan Yean Cemetary ------------------------- Andy Mullen Alive. Well known twitter personality Cecilia Bartholemew has been in hospital with a heart attack. The entire twitter community has responded appropriately. CB was of course a close friend of the late Prince Phillip and announced the death of her even closer friend Dame Cheryl Gillan two days before Dame Cheryl actually died. Lol
