1 pointI didn't know where to post this so I have created a new thread. If a mod thinks it is already covered please move it. I was thinking about who are the general Deathlist picks so as a starting point I took my 1000 name longlist and split people up into broad categories. Almost 3/4 of the list is taken up with just 5 categories 254 - Actors 192 - Music Industry 120 - Writers 103 - Politicians 69 - Sport Where the is ambiguity I have used a judgement rather than record people twice. I don't know if this says more about me or whether peoples longlists are similar. I suppose the ultimate long list is the DDP master list. Because this is my longlist it doesn't contain the 450 names on my shortlist who are probably more likely to go.

1 pointJosé Iturbi, celebrated, explosive and temperamental Spanish-born conductor, harpsichordist and pianist; one of the most important pianists in the first half of the 20th century, died in Los Angeles, California, five days after being admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital for heart problems on this date in 1980. He was 84 years old. Iturbi made his American debut in New York in 1929. During the 30's, he was conductor of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra in New York. Iturbi also suffered much tragedy in his personal life. His wife, María Giner de los Santos, died after taking poison, apparently mistakenly, for cough medicine and their only daughter, María, subsequently committed suicide in Beverly Hills. He was involved in a complex family custody battle in the 40's that culminated in his former son-in-law kidnapping Iturbi's two granddaughters. José Iturbi was interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California.

1 pointAha, someone has been good enough to use the helpdesk, before submitting their team. Nods have been given, it's good to know the manager is wanted, ha! As said before, time is short to enter and waiting on some favourite entrants before time runs out.

1 pointSo wait? It's ok for Handjob to have an affair? Or is it? He's got a wife and wains who he didn't give a damn about while he was shagging his aide. But that is fine, apparently. It's because he broke the rules he imposed on everybody else. "My wee granny died alone of covid, meanwhile he was snogging his gf against the rules". Well, you know what? I don't give a shit about your dead granny. This total cunt said to his family fuck you, hoping he wouldn't be found out. And she said to her family fuck you, hoping she wouldn't be found out. What in god's good green and pleasant land is that the behaviour of a Minister of State? Oh, wait, is it ok for them to go all European on their adultery, while telling everyone to play cricket (because we've taken back control)? Seems to me that is ok, according to the great unwashed hoi polloi. Well, mates you've lost your morality, your right to dictate anything to anyone, because if that's ok (rules about dead granny's omitted), then you've lost your high ground, Makes Cecil Parkinson look like St Peter. Yes, I'm angry and pished.

1 pointWe only need to reflect on the heartbreaking situation of people being restricted and sitting distanced when bereaved at funerals to understand how despicable it is what he has done. Even if it hasn't happened to anyone we know we all saw the Queen sitting alone at her husbands funeral and it was heartbreaking. Even our elderly widowed head of state observed the letter of the rules and didn't act like she was exempt. Shame on him for his hypocrisy.

1 pointHoping his bit on the side has a heart to heart with her hubby and stays with him now. That way, he's lost his wife, his job and his back-up plan. Hilariously, he and BoJo seem to think this is the end of the matter. How about giving us some details of how long this has been going on. Not because I care remotely about the sordid details, but because she's been working on our behalf and by his side since March last year and paid by the taxpayer for nearly a year. Did he see the pandemic as a good excuse to spend more time with his mistress? Just how long has he been telling us how important it is to stick to the rules while breaking them the minute he's off camera? The man should be finished in politics, but we all know he'll be back in Cabinet by the New Year. I particularly liked this line from the BBC article yesterday (pre-sacking): When your government's so bent that none of them can resign because all of them will end up resigning. Also: is there anybody Matt Hancock's ever met who hasn't received money from the taxpayer at this point..?
