Norwegian actor Vegar Hoel has died aged 48 (Norwegian paywall link). Far better known in his homeland, but he did have some international fame as the lead actor in Dead Snow and its sequels. They were a bunch of cult B-movie horror films about zombie Nazis attacking some couples on a romantic getaway. The sequel involves Hoel's character raising a zombie Soviet Russian army to take on the dead Nazi stormtroopers, while he tries to bring his girlfriend (she died) back to life. It's the sort of kitchen sink drama stuff we've been missing in modern cinema, really.
@Toast is the perennial bridesmaid of the Scavenger Hunt. Always within 1 of victory before a winner has been declared. Will it be 4th time lucky? I suspect there may be a few more closing in before we're done, though...
Apparently believed to be suffering from pulmonary fibrosis according to that and other articles.
His ex-wife and former first lady Susana Higuchi in ICU "in serious condition", some articles say that she's in coma
I am also uneasy about teams being held back once the game has started because you can be strategic with your replacements by effectively scuppered people's uniques but if you cannot see all the teams it is not a level playing field
He suggested today that he’s about to give it up in the next couple of days because he doesn’t want it to impact his health. Sensible decision. He’s done well and he got a lot of media attention to the cause, which I suppose was the key aim.
I know.
It’s my first time organising a pool, I rarely take part in any pool in here (only AO Deadpool) so I didn’t know about the timing. If this game works this year, next year I’ll make it start in March or something like that to please anyone
Anyway, hope it will be fun and successful !
Austin Currie former, North Ireland Civil Rights activist and TD (Irish MP) and one time Irish Presidential Candidate in 1990 Dead aged 82
Was the last surviving founder of the SDLP
Václav Havel, another Czech President was picked in 2009. He was dropped for 2010 as he got somewhat better in mid 2009. Died in 2011. Hard to compare to Zeman as Havel was the founder of the modern-day Czech Republic, Zeman is known for his drinking habits and controversies.
The main difference to many of the ill world leaders is that he's a current head of state (and due to this his illness has gotten a lot of media coverage) and I think that might increase his chances to get on the list, especially if he keeps getting media attention and doesn't resign. Wouldn't be suprised if they didn't pick him though.
Correct. Kenny McA is by far the oldest living. Paul Goldsmith is the oldest living Indy 500 driver.
Andre Milhoux also remains from 1956.
Goldsmith and Foyt remain from Indy 1958.
The only other living starters from the 1950's are David Piper and Peter Ashdown (albeit in F2 cars), from British Grand Prix 1959.
By the way, one surviving driver from that era survives no.more: Mike Harris who raced in the 1962 South African Grand Prix died yesterday aged 82.
Great news, Demi has released their first official sex toy, the Demiwand. I do wonder where it is meant to be in this photo though as it's not in the box...

There is a possibility of yet another by election various UK newspapers are reporting.
Conservative MP for Windsor Adam Afriyie might soon be declared bankrupt as a result of unpaid taxes and thus be forced to resign.
Didn't voice Frieza in Dragon Ball Z, but rather in some of the later Dragon Ball series. In DBZ it was actually a woman... Linda Young (wiki). As far as I'm aware, all of the voice cast of the main English dub of DBZ are quite incredibly still with us, but a lot of the original Japanese voices are dead.
Used to love DBZ when I was a kid. Went round to my neighbours house every day after school to watch it because we only had terrestrial TV in my house until I was 12!
