Oh dear The DL 2022 has lost so many potential candidates (new or returnee) in the last few weeks - Anthony Sher, Ray Illingworth, James Brokenshire, Alan Igglesden, F.W. de Klerk and now Desmond Tutu.

Desmond Tutu is a popular pick here by 14:22, Annami, Bibliogryphon, Book, Buffalo Phil, CaptainChorizo, chilean way, Etushispushingupdaisies, msc, Prophet, RoverAndOut, The Old Crem, ThereWillBeDeaths7, TomTomTelekom, Vaagheid and WEP, but wasn't chosen by the Committee. Maybe the last big hit in 2021? With so many (potential) candidates left in 2021 - how will the DL 2022 look like, what do you think? Well, check in for next year's DL Prediction Game!

Funny that the thing his name will live on for most is the 2:2 degree, which I and many others were privileged to receive.

Reaper takes archbishop, and many teams are no doubt chagrining this Yuletide surprise of the death of the great Desmond Tutu. Indeed, the highest-ranked teams to not pick him, BabyBlue and machotrouts, now rise to joint first, and it forces me to dust the cobwebs off the rulebook and see how to break a tie again! "If two or more teams are tied at the end of the year, the tie will first be decided by who has less hits." machotrouts has 5 hits (Walker, Lloyd, Harding, King, Philip) to BabyBlue's 2 (Bayh, Sang-chul). As stands, BabyBlue will win in an exciting end to my final hosted Inverse if the remnants of the year don't have another surprise in store. =1. BabyBlue 18 =1. machotrouts 18 3. He was actually frequently in hospital. In 2018 he broke his hip, some months later he was hospitalised again after collpasing. Last hospitalization was in April this year. At least three-four hospital stays in the last two years.

It's my third year choosing Tutu (out of four years). I haven't sorted out next years list but he's currently at #59 on my list and I had him marked as "no real reason to actually die" so I don't think he would have made the cut. But he's on my 2021 list and that's all that matters

This is all getting very weird. Janice hasn’t tweeted since October. Her last interaction was liking a Marie Curie cancer post about dying. I also note she has been absent from her radio programme as they’re using a “stand in” atm, who is due to fill in for her over the coming weeks as well. All of this would suggest that even if she hasn’t died, she’s sick. There are quite a few accounts on Twitter and Facebook who are claiming she’s still alive, one going as far as saying she will enjoy reading all the tributes to her.
