9 pointsI was torn on which one of these to use as her bio pic on the DDP... ... I ultimately went for the one on the left because I didn't want anyone accusing me of airbrushing pictures to improve/slim appearances.

5 pointsThe first Nobel Prize Dead Pool is over now, thanks for all participants for joining. Ther following Nobel laureates scored in this contest: Isamu Akasaki, physics 2014 (92), 1.826 points for TomTomTelekom Frederik William de Klerk, peace 1993 (85), 5.637 points for WEP Richard Robert Ernst, chemistry 1991 (87), 3.634 points for Bibliogryphon Edmond Henri Fischer, medicine 1992 (101), 2.610 points for MariNisia Ei-ichi Negishi, chemistry 2010 (85), 3.836 points for Salmon Mousse Desmond Mpilo Tutu, peace 1984 (90), 5.531 points for chilean way The following laureates did not score since they were not chosen: Robert Howard Grubbs, chemistry 2005 (78) Anthony Hewish, physics 1974 (97) - Last laureate of tat year Toshihide Masukawa, physics 2008 (81) Robert Alexander Mundell, economic sciences 1999 (88) Steven Weinberg, physics 1979 (88) This makes a total of six deceased candidates - in the scoring period - and twelve in general: Most of them as expected in physics (4), followed by chemistry (3) and peace (2), and the tie for medicine and economic scienes (1 each). The writers are all still alive and well. Since every participant scored maximum once, there was not so many mathematics to do, just the awarded bonus points have to be added: The oldest laureate was Edmond Henry Fischer (101) and gives @MariNisia one point extra. The youngest – scoring – laureate was a close one, but F.W. de Klerk (85) brings 8 bonus points to @WEP. So the final scoreboard is: 1. @WEP - 5.645 points 2. @chilean way - 5.531 points 3. @Salmon Mousse - 3.836 points 4. @Bibliogryphon- 3.634 points 5. @MariNisia - 2.161 points 6. @TomTomTelekom - 1.826 points 7. @arghton / @Book/ @frleon - 0 points Congrats to all scorers and good luck for all, who have joined the Nobel Prize Dead Pool 2022/23!

3 pointsLike Cassandra cursed with the gift of foresight but having no ability to change the future, An Fear Baeg books his own downfall. It's not all over now, but BabyBlue takes an early lead as Monica Vitti nabs the Brian Deane award for this year's DL Cup. BabyBlue 4 v. An Fear Beag 0

3 pointsFrom an Irish perspective, it is certainly strange to have something of the moral high ground when it comes to Government resignations. It has always seemed that British politicians would be forced to resign for indiscretions which would have been accepted elsewhere. While in Ireland the rogue politician was not so much accepted as celebrated. However we lost a Minister for Agriculture and a European Commissioner over one golf function during lockdown, while Johnson seems to get away with weekly parties in No.10 itself. (I know that there is stuff coming out now about a party in the Department of Justice, but it looks like the Minister may not be affected) With our history of politicians (see Charlie Haughey or Bertie "I won it on the horses" Aherne", it says an awful lot about the current stench in UK politics when the standards in public office are higher in Ireland.

3 pointsAs someone not from the U.K, seems surprising he is still in office. He clearly violated his own rules, while spewing lies to the general public. If the standard for an elected official hasn't been violated....what is the standard? (Obviously as someone from the U.S I can't criticize, but I hold the European countries to a much higher standard than us).
-
3 pointsNobody has actually proposed another lockdown. I think what “we guys” largely want is a complete Gooseberry enema-style clear out of abhorrent, lying narcissists. The biggest step is to remove this corrupt administration we have now; not just the leader, the whole thing, even if the alternative isn’t as promising as it should be.

2 pointsI've moaned about this before. Acting is a profession where the sex of the individual is relevant. If you are a casting director looking to cast a female role, you will (with very few exceptions) be looking for a female actor. Or a male actor for a male role. It is useful to have words which distinguish between the two, and it seems foolish in the extreme to discard them for the sake of "inclusivity" (if that's the word).

2 pointsYeah, far too lazy to do analysis and stats to go with this so the above is much appreciated. The field does strike me as very fitting for some shock results - no slam dunks immediately visible and a lot of people who could drop dead tomorrow or could go on December 31st. Should be an interesting round.

1 pointNo, it’s business-speak for the target price where consumerism and sales reach a meeting of the minds. Also, at least in negotiating terms, it’s a range, not a ‘point’ at all. Most business-speak sucks in general, though it has its place I suppose. You must not tune into business shows or the news when they’re talking about the stock market or quarterly reports or produce launches. Unlike price point, a ‘price’ is what Tesco puts on a placard next to the cumquats. If it’s £0.30 that’s the price; if you think it’s too high and would have purchased them if they were around £0.25, that’s your price point. SC .
