2 pointsCongrats @Philip , the only one picking Estelle without also picking the complete field of candidates like the other 3!

2 pointsAmerican actress, best known for her role as Alice Mitchell, Dennis’s mother, from 1959 to 1963 on the CBS family sitcom Dennis the Menace Gloria Henry died on this day a year ago, aged 98.

2 pointsNo worries @gcreptile. @WEP has set a fairly high bar for "died quite some time ago" . Regarding the date of death, as you said the article which acts as a QO is dated 8th February and mentions "earlier this week". February 8th was a Tuesday, so "earlier this week" should be Monday 7th, or Sunday 6th if you consider that to be the beginning of the week. However the linkedin tribute is dated Saturday 5th. Until proven otherwise, I am going with the date of death as Saturday 5th February, as the tribute gives no indication as to when he died.

(e.g. someone you selected died before 2022 or was ineligible for being only famous for being old?) I had a quick scroll through your list and didn't see Betty White or anyone I recognised for that purpose! 1 pointHerman Wouk and Bill Gates Sr. didn't get BBC obits either. I didn't think she was famous enough in the UK either and was surprised the committee picked her. Though obviously it turned out to be a good decision.
-
1 pointNo BBC obit so far. She might be one of the first DL successes not to get one. I actually neglected to choose her as I didn’t think she’d get a BBC obit. Arguably not famous enough in the UK.

1 pointAny way to fix these polls so that people can only vote once? Sir Creep voted for everyone. Rather takes the fun out of it doesn’t it?

1 pointAfter a few months of nothing, my second hit this week after Tom Parker, and third of the year. She was a really funny lady and made me laugh with glee during her Seinfeld appearances. May she RIP.

1 pointNot going well, both because there have hardly been notable deaths recently and because the list is pretty bad.

1 pointI can't believe I took Tom Parker off my list I thought he was in remission and was doing well Tom Parker Theoldlady 3+1 wannamaker 3+1 The Old Crem 1+1 Salmon Mousse 1+1 Book 6+1 Death Duke 1+1 TQR 3+1 jonnythegamemaster 3+1 Nick 3+1 Book 7/50 The Daredevil 4/50 gcreptile 4/50 theoldlady 4/50 jonnythegamemaster 4/50 Nick 4/50 TQR 4/50 wannamaker 4/50 John Key 3/50 Main Deathlist 2/50 MariNisia 2/50 Annami 2/50 markb4 2/50 _floydylan_ 2/50 Etushispushingupdaisies 2/50 Bibliogryphon 2/50 The Old Crem 2/50 Death Duke 2/50 Salmon Mousse 2/50 earl 1/50 Hell 1/50 dimreaper 1/50 Pop_Zeus 1/50 arghton 1/50 Gooseberry Crumble 1/50 DieHardGiantsFan 0/50 six feet blunder 0/50 Doulton 0/50 Dying Probably 0/50 Redrumours 0/50 Miranda lass 0/50

1 pointAlan Jeapes, who designed among other things the Eastenders logo, the 80s BBC 2 ident and the old BBC news clock, died in 2010 according to both IMDB and this guy's family history page. You would have thought someone who has a back catalog that gets him a permanent display at a British university would have qualified for a QO somewhere, but I can't see one.
-
1 pointI'm in my early 50s and had to live through the Seinfeld craze. I saw enough from the adverts to know I would hate the show. Every time I saw Jerry I had an urge to punch smug fuck in the face (or kick the neighbour's cat)
