    Ernie Els, the phenomenal South African professional golfer, one of the best of his generation, who is known as "The Big Easy", due to his physical stature, is 53 today. He holds the record for the most consecutive weeks inside the Top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking (758 weeks). Ernie Els was inducted into the South African Golf Hall of Fame in 2009 and the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2011. George Wendt, American actor and comedian who rose to fame for his known role of Norm Peterson in the massively successful sitcom "Cheers", is 74 today. He also reprised his popular character in "Frasier", "St. Elsewhere", "The Simpsons", "The Tortellis" and "Wings". George Wendt is also well-known for his appearances on "Saturday Night Live".

    It’ll be truly staggering if June Spencer (providing she doesn’t go in 2022), is omitted from next year’s list. She fits all the right criteria, she is older than all the current candidates, she is 100% guaranteed to get a BBC obit, she is now in her retirement and her contribution to British radio over decades and decades has been largely unmatchable.

    I don't think they will put it either. I don't seem them putting two popes on a single list. But I wouldn't mind having him considering his recent health problem. Btw is there a poll on which pope will be the last one standing ? Rare situation where we have two popes alive, it won't happen again in our lifetime I think. would be interesting.

    I am getting a feeling that Jeremy Hunt is not Liz Truss's choice. He has been foisted upon here by "the men in grey suits" as the price for keeping the job for now but it really feels like he is calling the shots.

    Presenter, Stuart Hall (Wiki), reportedly dead of prostate cancer since August. A great candidate for the 2023 DL then! Surprising Hall and Pete Murray (radio DJ) are both still DL strangers at this point.

    Twitter reporting the death of former League of Ireland player Ricky McEvoy at age 55. He played with the Shamrock Rovers in the 1980s and 90s. Edit: Tweet that went with this item deleted after the death proved to be a hoax. Thank you to @Ulitzer95 for the info.

    Princess Astrid of Norway, the older sister of the King of Norway, has become more and more frail this past year. She turned 90 in February and is in a wheelchair now. The last royal duty she performed was a video last month.
