I wonder if Jimmy and his family are regretting the decision to start hospice care. Maybe his condition wasn't as severe as doctors initially thought. Or I think Jimmy was diagnosed with cancer and he elected to hospice care rather than seek treatment. I don't blame a 98-year-old that would rather die than seek treatment like chemo.

Thu 29 June 36 The Rolling Stones – Paint It, Black +4 16 The Animals – House Of The Rising Sun -3 15 The Kinks – You Really Got Me -3 13 The Four Tops – Reach Out I´ll Be There 06 Marvin Gaye – I Heard It Through The Grapevine I love Paint It Black, but Satisfaction is the more iconic Stones song. It's the one they always close the show with, which is why I kept voting it up. Plus PIB didn't appear to be needing my support.

Hmm about the January 2025 election idea. The Tories are very into self-preservation yeah? And a large chunk of their vote is OAP postal vote. Can't see them calling an election during the worst post service of the year! Imo October 2024.

This has not been a good week for ex-Houston Texans players. Ironically they are the NFL’s newest franchise.

I saw the last Indiana Jones movie today. Harrison Ford is in excellent shape, but John Rhys Davies seems frail and way thinner than before, I hardly recognize him. Granted he is 79, but still…

Heir presumptive to the throne of Austria-Hungary Archduke Franz Ferdinand died on this day 109 years ago, aged 50. Following the death of Crown Prince Rudolf in 1889 and the death of Karl Ludwig in 1896, Franz Ferdinand became the heir presumptive to the Austro-Hungarian throne. His courtship of Sophie Chotek caused conflict within the imperial household, and their morganatic marriage in 1900 was only allowed after he renounced his descendents' rights to the throne. Franz Ferdinand held significant influence over military, and in 1913 he was appointed inspector general of the Austro-Hungarian armed forces. Franz Ferdinand and his wife were assassinated in Sarajevo by Gavrilo Princip. Franz Ferdinand's assassination led to the July Crisis and precipitated Austria-Hungary's declaration of war against Serbia, which in turn triggered a series of events that eventually led to Austria-Hungary's allies and Serbia's allies declaring war on each other, starting World War I.

By now, I actually think it was just an excuse not to leave the house anymore, and to spend the time with Rosalynn who might actually be worse off.

Here is another list of people who should be considered for the 2024 immortals list: Howard Dully: American lobotomy victim who has lived with a transorbital lobotomy since 1960. Also a former alcoholic. Pedro Pablo Kuczynski: Former Peruvian leader. Was hospitalized with a heart attack in 2019, and was diagnosed with hypertension. A few months after that heart attack, he was "hospitalized and was transferred to his home". He was also hospitalized with pneumonia last year. Hamadi Jebali: Former Tunisian leader. Health declined after several hunger strikes. Reportedly refused heart and diabetes medication. Also alleged that he was a victim of torture. Neil Cavuto: American conservative Fox News host. Survived multiple sclerosis AND cancer (which he described as "near-life ending") at the same time. Received heart surgery in 2016. Was hospitalized for COVID-19 twice and was treated for pneumonia. Alexei Navalny: Russian activist. Survived a Novichok nerve agent poisoning. While in prison, he lost sensation of his spine and legs. Later he began a hunger strike. His attorneys claimed he had a spinal disc herniation. Health increasingly declined in April 2021, with high potassium blood levels, and damaged kidneys. Yehudah Glick: Israeli rabbi and politician who managed to survive being shot in the chest 4 times. Mark Gastineau: American football player. Was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's in 2016. while I'm here, here are a few cyclists that deserves more consideration : - Raphael Geminiani (b. 1925) : 7 times winner of Tour de France - Federico Bahamontes (b. 1928) : legendary cyclist, the eagle of Toledo has won 6 tours de France. Brought him back to my list this year and is definitely worthy of his own appearance on DL - André Darrigade (b. 1929) : le levrier bondissant/des landes is one of the most famous french cyclist still alive are there others 90+ living cyclists as famous as them ?

I have some suggestions for the 2024 immortals list. 1. Kong Nay: Cambodian musician. He was apparently "living out the final days of his life"... 1 year ago. Diabetes complications, blood pressure issues, lung failure, and somehow still alive. 2. Roman Kostomarov: Russian ice dancer. Allegedly suffered from cerebral hemorrhage, oedema, meningitis, two strokes, blood infection. He was also on life support due to complications from pneumonia and in a coma a few months ago. Apparently, he needs a few amputations too. 3. Edmund White: American writer. He revealed he was HIV-positive in 1985, and in 2012, he suffered two strokes AND a heart attack within the span of a few months. 4. Ranulph Fiennes: British explorer. He suffered two heart attacks, underwent a double heart bypass, and survived cancer. He also has diabetes.
