3 pointsPeople going on about how rude it is to kill trance and dance tracks, or don't like that I am not keen on Pet Shop Boys etc and yet when I complained how people killed my fav songs in the no1 songs you suddenly go and kill every Westlife and Take That song ever (or others in the genre) with blink of an eye. It's why i've stopped mentioning which songs I like. Just saying. (this may not make sense as it's 1am so feel free to ignore) Not everyone likes your music taste.

2 pointsBritish actress Angela Douglas is 83 today. An extensive CV includes Carry Ons, Z-Cars (playing Fancy Smith (Brian Blessed)'s girlfriend) Cleopatra (with Burton & Taylor), Doctor Who (Sylvester McCoy era, playing Mrs Lethbridge-Stewart) and Hamlet, as well as numerous other film and TV roles. She was first married to Kenneth More (Reach for the Sky, A Night to Remember et al), amidst much scandal as he was already married and she was 26 years younger, until his death in 1982; she subsequently married writer/director Bill Bryden in 2009 (they met in, and lived together from, 1988) and was widowed for a second time when he died last year.

2 pointsUpdated. Also, HM Ngola Buba Nvula Dala Mana Cabombo of Ndongo or whatever his name was died sometime in September, which should make Chike Edozien the oldest "monarch" in Africa if his age is correct. All the listed ones born in the 1920s are increasingly frail, most "somewhat active" except VBC Onyema III and Gundonaa Samata Abudu who I think might die off radar. Orizu III definitely the most "high-profile" on the list and might even get a QO somewhere.

2 pointsKing Gustaf V of Sweden died on this day 73 years ago, aged 92. - Gustaf was the son of King Oscar II, and became king upon his death in 1907. Gustaf opted not to have a coronation, and his precedent stands in the Swedish monarchy to this day (with his son and great-grandson successors). - Gustaf would quickly reform the Swedish monarchy in that he gave the country's parliament more power, albeit he wanted to handpick his own government. This was compromised by allowing Gustaf to nominate ministers, but the Swedish Parliament needed to have a vote whether to accept or reject them. - Gustaf was an avid tennis player, often competing in tournaments under the pseudonym "Mr. G". Having first seen the sport on a trip to the UK in 1876, he founded Sweden's first tennis club once he got back home. - Gustaf sympathized with Germany during both World Wars due to his wife Victoria having hailed from there. He infamously tried to send a congratulatory letter to Hitler for his persecution of communists, but the Prime Minister stopped it from happening. He did, however, try to convince him to stop persecuting Jews (Gustaf was friends with famous Jewish tennis player Daniel Prenn). - There have been rumors that Gustaf was bisexual, allegedly having had sexual relations with a man named Kurt Haijby between 1936 and 1947 (his wife had died in 1930). - Gustaf was Sweden's oldest king, and reigned for 43 years. He was succeeded by his son Gustaf VI Adolf. - In popular culture, Gustaf was mentioned in Cab Calloway's signature song "Minnie the Moocher" (released in 1931): "She had a dream about the king of Sweden He gave her things, that she was needin' He gave her a home built of gold and steel A diamond car, with the platinum wheels"

2 pointsSad news about Matthew Perry a talented actor but not totally unexpected he lived a troubled life, he was never going to make old bones that’s for sure and he has looked ill for some time due to his past Drugs and Alcohol intake.A massive death as Friends really was a phenomenon and Matthew Perry as Chandler played a massive part in that success. I hope he can find peace in the next world as he so often struggled to find it in this world. RIP.

1 pointNari Contractor well enough to complain about not having gotten his usual Mumbai match passes. One of the living four Indian cricketers born in the 1930s who've received the Padma Shri, the others being Chandu Borde (89), Gurcharan Singh (88) and Farokh Engineer (85). All four seemingly doing quite well at the moment, especially Farokh who looks like William Shatner and is still regularly making appearances at 85.

1 pointWait, did I hear right? Question about Sunak's missus making 2 million quids from a fund set up by Sunak as Chancellor. Sunak's reponse? That's what she does, she's a businesswoman, and that money could have gone anywhere. But it went in your missus' pocket, like so much Government money, Rishi. They aren't even bothering to hide their corruption.
