7 pointsThat is the line that is used to suppress turnout. The media often use Vox Pop to push this line. I actually hate Vox Pop on really significant issues because you do not know how they selected which ones to use and how many people they had to speak to to get them to say what they wanted to broadcast As the manifestos are published everyone should be encouraged to look at vote for policies or some other comparative forum to see what aligns with their values However if the answers come back as Conservative or Reform then you should probably check your values I have no time for Keir Starmer he is weak light blue turncoat who has nothing to say on the really big issues (Brexit and Climate) but I think a Labour Government will not be so out of touch and will try to govern for a larger percentage of the population than this lot who only seem interested in the 1%

5 pointsCrem knows that's the line used to suppress turnout. That's why he uses it all the time. I've warmed to Starmer in recent times. I see his reasons for outwardly exercising caution. As for Brexit, his silence on the matter has wound me up too, especially given that he knows full well how much of an unmitigated disaster it has been, but there has to come a point soon where he'll publicly accept that. I'm hopeful we'll see a change in him during his first term. I'm really, seriously praying (not literally) for a Lib Dem official opposition. This is bound to kick Starmer's Labour into touch much quicker.

5 pointsSorry - bit tardy on this, but - as with almost all winners of my pools over the years - drol has opted for a charitable donation and I've gone with the tried and trusted option of donating to the UK's largest provider of foodbanks, certainly whilst we continue to have a Conservative government! Who said we were sickos, eh? Congratulations drol - now let's allow this thread to sink into oblivion

3 pointsDid you see that vox pox during the Hartlepool by-election, of the voter who voted Tory to "punish the Labour government doing nothing for Hartlepool the past decade". Sums them up for me. He's having the time of his life. Goofy stunts, heartfelt interviews about caring for his disabled son, might have the best Lib Dem results since Ashdown and Kennedy.

3 pointsTwo Dutch names. These two are pretty big names domestically and former NT players: Pierre Vermeulen (wiki) has vascular dementia since 2022. Willy Dullens (wiki) has Alzheimer's since December 2021. Both of them were interviewed last December.

3 pointsAnother 4-6 appeared at the Royal Albert Hall event shown on ITV yesterday but filmed on the 6th itself so they couldn’t have travelled to Normandy. Included two of the older surviving ones at 104 and 103.

2 pointsI was rather hoping for Ed Davey to arrive at his manifesto launch by jumping off a trampoline and doing a forward roll on a crash mat. But fear not, he's off to ride a roller coaster this afternoon! His policies sound most in touch with the public. If he's Leader of the Opposition (as some polls predict) PMQs could be fun.

2 pointsGood to Sunak again. Interview done in a pub. Sunak doesn't drink. Says he wants to toughen up sentences and more bobbies on the beat. With the prisons full to bursting, where are all these new prisoners going to go? Unless he's planning to release more crims early? Says he wants the law to show no mercy. Then begs the British public to forgive him for D-Day fiasco. Surely all the criminals should just apologise, beg for forgiveness and we can move on. I've never seen anyone less sincere about an apology than Johnson. That takes some doing.

2 pointsI agree with Rishi. A mere 50 quid fine for Partygate wasn't enough. Not when students and others were fined 10 grand. He should be strung up with that seatbelt he was caught not wearing when driving. Clunk, click, he's a dick.

2 pointsI know that Doctor Who fans are often looked on as cash cows by marketing companies (I am guilty of this myself if you look at the prices of things on my ebay store) but who is going to fork out nearly £300 for a teddy bear with a long scarf...... Danbury Mint have had too much of my money in the past

2 pointsMay and early June update here. The timespan since my last update was replete with carkers who felt like HPDP potentials (Roger Corman, Alice Munro, Super Gran, Dabney Coleman, Jeannette Charles) but were nowhere to be found. But a few still fell in the HPDP radar. First up, belated arrival of the Toby Keith Squares points. theoldlady's points total is updated to 72, and DeathByArsenic's 16. Now for fresh cadavers. Footballer and manager César Luis Menotti will forever be known for taking Argentina to Cup glory in 1978, and El Flaco wasn't flaky in the HPDP either. BabyBlue hails César from the subs bench, worth 25 points. Yodeler Frank Ifield took the UK charts by storm in a brief fever dream in the early 60s. Beatlemania threw his hitmaking career to the wayward wind, but it was still worth remembering him if only because he did Celebrity Squares and pantomime. And YoungWillz did exactly that for his Squares theme team, with an Alpine-sized points haul of 119 points (35 base + 84 bonus). Maybe not the pivotal Cup hit he was hotly tipped to be, but could well be a key player to the HPDP race. The heavy lifting this update came courtesy of rugby great Rob Burrow, tackled by 15 teams this edition: Pedro67 and Torva Messor gain 35 points. maryportfuncity and msc 30. Hell, Perhaps, and The Old Crem 25. CaptainChorizo, Funeralopolis, and The Unknown Man 20. Toast 15. DeathBecomesThem 10. An Fear Beag and ladyfiona 50 sub points. wannamaker 25 sub points. On the same day, actress Janis Paige completed the Pajama Game and dressed herself for permanent rest. A scene stealer in many of the projects she graced, so too was she a major selling point for Charles de Gaulle as a unique Squares participant. He turns the Paige to 88 points (40 base + 48 bonus). I'm a little surprised Sir Ian himself, William Russell, didn't qualify for any bonuses as far as I can see. Perhaps a cue for one of his pickers to hop in the TARDIS for the most important time travel mission of all - getting William Russell onto a vintage Celebrity Squares episode. Until then, five teams Russell up the regular points: Hell gains 25, John Key and Sean 20, Prophet 15, and Bibliogryphon 25 sub points. And here comes the new scoreboard. The composition of the podium remains unchanged from last time, though gold Torva Messor and silver Perhaps both gained from Burrow while bronze Banana attained no new hits. Paige and Ifield show how a motherlode of points can change a team's fortunes - Charles De Gaulle jumps from mid-table obscurity to the top five via the former, and Willz nothing to top fifteen via the latter. Incidentally, if I gave Ifield the Crimes Against Humanity points for his music, Willz would have 287 points and the lead, but with great power comes great responsibility. Do not park outside my apartment and blare Ifield from your loudspeakers to try to change my mind. 1. Torva Messor 235.19 2. Perhaps 215.19 3. Banana 173 4. Thatcher 155.19 5.
