Invoking or cheering the assassination of a political opponent qualifies you as a cunt.

Amazing that the Republicans have finally found a victim of gun violence they really care about. In all seriousness, sickening though Trump is, so is this incident. Anyone who doesn't see this as a wake-up call to de-escalate tensions and rhetoric and work towards a more civil politics is frankly dangerous. Not even going to get started on gun laws because it has been patently sodding obvious for a looooong time that the "right to bear arms" puts everyone in danger. Sort it out.

Appalling shocking thing to happen and to be condemned by all in a democracy. However I do recall Trump effectively openly egging people on to shoot Hillary Clinton in 2016. Some of the people on social media blaming the media and the Democrats for raising the temperature in politics and causing this shooting to happen were not so outraged in 2016 when he put Hillary Clintons life in danger. The double standard is striking. So whilst I do think attempting to shoot dead politicians is awful and to be condemned I'm not feeling any personal sympathy towards him for his ordeal. If that makes me bad then so be it . The innocent bystander and their loved ones are the ones I really feel for . I'm very pleased that no matter how angry many British people were with politicians during the 2024 general election campaign that ultimately we dealt with the situation through the ballot box not guns or violence.

Again. I don't understand why you are getting so offended on belief of someone that, for all intents and purposes, wants to install a fascist dictatorship.

15 dollars, and more than half a year before joining the Republicans. It'll definitely be used against the Democrats, but I think it's likely that the man's political opinions changed during those months. He was 17 at the time. Quite rare in most of Europe. I wouldn't be suprised if it gets more common worldwide in the following years, months or even weeks. Copycat effect.

This is why @TQR has been asking for a 'dickhead' reaction. The facepalm reaction is often taken to be aimed at the poster when it's actually meant to show agreement.

That’s clearly a lie. They need the presidency if only to prevent any more appointees to the Supreme Court, should vacancies occur. The importance of this has been shown given their rulings on Presidential immunity which were absurd.

This is a false equivalency. Violence is, of course, terrible. Shooting a presidential candidate is an assault on the nation. It is an attempt to usurp our right to choose our leaders. I despise Trump and all he stands for, but this is not merely an assault on him. As a citizen of this country, I am injured by both the attempt to alter the election but also the contribution to general political upheaval. Regardless of whether he is a demagogue and has endorsed violence himself, it is truly disturbing and disgraceful to suggest that this is a missed opportunity.

People are shot at, injured and killed by guns every day in the USA. So I find it strange that the faux outrage that nobody should target politicians - who are "people" in a country where guns are freely available. It's utter nonsense to suggest they are immune from this. Might be a nutter with a gun, might be something else. But shooting politicians as with anyone from little kids to the aged is a national pasttime.

"He deserves it" and "he brought it on himself" are the same. Cause basically, you’re saying that it’s ok to shot at a politician if you find his rethoric too harsh or controversial.

And that will be absolutely nothing compared to the tsunami of reactions that @TQRwill unleash if he finally gets the "dickhead" emoji he has been looking for!

This prediction hasn't had much legs so far, with Dr. Ruth the first mentioned above to die. But that could easily be the breaking of the dam.
