I have to do this. Miriam Margolyes is a national treasure, no doubt about that. Her recent heart operation has included part of a cow's heart. Miriam is 83 and suffers with spinal stenosis and is worried about running out of money to afford to pay for her care. It would be a travesty if she didn't have her own thread so we could discuss her in the one place and give her the ultimate tributes she deserves. As she is openly discussing her mortality with her usual gusto, we should oblige her with a dedicated thread. Gawd bless you Miriam and bless us while we still have you.

It was sad indeed. As someone that voted for him especially. Glad he made the right decision and I hope he gets a few healthy years with his family.

It was extremely sad to see his speech to the US. Bronzed up like Trump, stumbling profusely, but the message and hope for America still there. I wonder if he is still quite ill.

Pope Innocent VIII died on this day 532 years ago, aged 60. - Innocent's name before ascending to the papacy was Giovanni Cybo. He was appointed as a bishop in 1467, and as a cardinal in 1473. - After the death of Pope Sixtus IV in 1484, several cardinal electors convinced each other to vote for Innocent to prevent the election of cardinal Marco Barbo (probably due to the Papal States' political strain with Venice). - Innocent spent his early papacy trying to assemble a Crusade against the Ottoman Empire, but failed to do so. Regardless, Ottoman sultan Bayezid II would pay Innocent to keep his brother Cem (claiming to be the true heir to the Ottoman throne) imprisoned- and Innocent would use this to his advantage by threatening to release him (which occurred in 1495, after Innocent's death). - Innocent would issue a papal bull in 1484 condemning the practice of witchcraft, which was written to allow a German inquisitor (named Heinrich Kramer) to take witchcraft investigations into their own hands. Among the things Innocent wrote within the bull was that any cat owner could be identified as a witch, and that the cat was to be burned at the stake with its owner. - Innocent was a slaveowner, having owned 100 Moorish slaves. - Before ascending to the papacy, Innocent had at least seven bastard children (of which two were legitimized). I want to do a search for two actresses with the same name Patricia Knox (born 1926) and Eleanor Todd (born 1931). Todd birth name is Patricia Knox so I'm a little confused, are they two different actresses or is it the same person. Actuallay Knox it looks different from Todd. I think it's a coincidence, what do you think @Ulitzer95? I found for the first one (born 1926) that she passed away in 2000. IMDb says she was born in 1926, but according to this she was born on April 23, 1916 in California as Patricia Luella Fargason and passed away on August 7, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada as Patricia L. Kiider. This should be updated on her IMDb page because it turns out still alive aged 95. About the second (Todd) I found this. It is said living in Florida, but I don't know.
