A sure fire pick for the Deathlist now has to be Ian Smith AKA Harold bloody Bishop. Terminal lung cancer, and its one of the rarest and worst prognosis lung cancers too. A gimme for the DL and Drop 40 imo. Sad though as I really liked Harold as a kid. Actor Ian Smith, best known as Neighbours’ Harold Bishop, reveals terminal cancer diagnosis | Neighbours | The Guardian

Isn't there a thing called palliative lying, where it's considered kinder to simply tell the person that their deceased loved one will be "back shortly" etc, and divert their attention to a different topic? I think it's far kinder to let people in the stages of advanced dementia think they're alive than force them to go through the same sadness over and over again.

Doubt it. Americans don’t typically vote in the same party for 12 years running. Also, voters tend to have short term memories.

American singer Steve Alaimo (Wiki) reported dead at 84, some days shy of his 85th birthday. FB tributes here, here and here He had nine singles chart in the Billboard Hot 100 without once reaching the Top 40 in his career, the most by any artist.

Perhaps rather than trying to shut people like Brad down because he doesn’t share your worldly view, you should tell us why Hunter deserves a pardon. Or indeed maybe a talking point for the Americans should be *why* their head of state should even be allowed to have such a powerful function that overrides the natural process of the justice system in the first place.** **At the political rants and discussions thread ofc – none of this is particularly relevant to Sleepy Joe’s health and thus off topic here.

Deathrace Form Guide #15 Dave Blunts Bored of Picking Octagenarians,Cancer Patients and Immortals who frequent hospitals but seem to never die? For a change of pace why not pick a 500 Pound Rapper who requires an Oxygen Tank and might be a double chunk chocolate cookie away from meeting The Reaper.

One of Dubbya's final pardons was for hip-hop producer John Forte, who was behind the worst single of 1998 and possibly one of the 50 worst songs ever recorded: (he was in prison for coke-dealing rather than somehow capturing the worst excesses of shiny suit rap into four minutes)

Would you like to challenge me to go through the whole deep purple discography? I recently downloaded their album "whoosh" and loved every bit of it

Joe Biden has now pardoned his son Hunter. Quite possibly his dumbest ever decision, having now shattered any positive legacy he may have had left, and vindicated Trump and MAGA linking the two of them together.

Gunnel Stenbäck, oldest in Finland and former head of the Helsinki Deaconess Foundation dead at 110. Oldest in Finland now I believe is Arvi Hämäläinen, born in January 1917. Quite a drop. I mentioned Hämäläinen here some months ago, he's a (very slightly) locally notable costume designer and has had multiple hospitalisations since 2021.

Marty Feldman died on this day 42 years ago, aged 48. - Feldman's famous bug-eyes were the result of Graves' ophthalmopathy, made more pronounced by vehicle accidents and botched reconstructive eye surgery. - Feldman initially wanted to become a jazz musician before becoming a comedian, playing the trumpet. His first comedy act was in a group called "Morris, Marty and Mitch", appearing on a 1955 episode of Showcase. Feldman delved into television further when he paired up with Barry Took and created Bootsie and Snudge in 1960. - Feldman was a principal writer of The Frost Report, where he would collaborate with many famous comedians of the day- including most of Monty Python, two of The Goodies, The Two Ronnies, and Tom Lehrer. Feldman would also co-opt some of their work into his own material, such as in his 1974 TV special Marty Back Together Again: - In terms of acting, Feldman was best known as Igor (it's pronounced eye-gore) in Young Frankenstein. He collaborated with Mel Brooks again in his 1976 film Silent Movie as Marty Eggs (an obvious expy of himself). - Feldman was also known for being a guest star in a 1981 episode of The Muppet Show: - Feldman died of a heart attack during the production of his final film Yellowbeard- likely caused from his chronic smoking habit. The epitaph on his grave is a message from his wife Lauretta- "He made us laugh, he took my pain away, I love you."

It depends on the person and how they can comprehend. I get what you are saying. But If you would lie and say they will be back soon, but then they do not come back you might cause them anxiety of why they are not coming. While yes maybe if you have to tell them they have died many time, it can create sadness for them, but for that one moment in time at least they know the truth and you are not giving them pointless hope.

Sophie Kinsella is a best-selling novelist in UK and makes the American book charts as well. Her books were made into a movie. She meets the fame criteria. Even my mom was texting me about her diagnosis.
