8 pointsOh I can have it both ways, because my meaningless drivel is targeted at the Donald, not the United States and is confined to here. I can express opinion on the death penalty, the loss of schoolchildren, the use of weapons etc etc. without any consequence. Because, like Musk, I actually have opinions. If I were to win the lottery tomorrow however, would that mean my opinion is more important? Would the masses rise up in support of me? Would questions be asked in the Commons? Would we finally get a Federal United Kingdom? Of course not. I'm not denying Musk his right to say whatever he likes, I question his intentions, his words and what that might mean for your actual victims for whom Musk cares nothing. I'm allowed to disagree with his opinions, as he mine. But overstretching to say his opinions are valid or even necessary because he is a rich man is something else. I disagree with that completely.

8 pointsJean-Marie Le Pen (1928-2025) "Le Penis dead" (Close the internet, we found a winner) "Vote for the crook, not for the fascist!" (2002 French elections slogan) "Hey, I'm a crook too!" (JMLP) Pun on being outlived by Jimm.... (Sorry, the force of habit) Age at death: 96 Known health issues: Reportedly on his deathbed in 2020, heart attack in April 2023, heart failure of years, hospitalised in November 2024 after another heart attack and a state of general frailty. Cause of death: The Jews did it. Alignment: France surely has a problem with Islamic fondamentalism, banlieus, criminality and mass immigration. Anyway JMLP was much of a cunt or embarassment even for the right wing, and was as such expelled by his own party back in 2015. He was a provoker for the sake of being a provoker, and his views on the Holocaust are not acceptable. During the war in Algeria he did practice torture on prisoners. Throught all his life, he put a big effort into being dislikeable, and succeeded.

7 pointsWe have started to make rulings. I'll be announcing the DQs shortly before we open up shop, so probably roughly a week's time.

5 pointsI have no idea what these gangs are up to, that is a matter for the police, local authorities and successive Governments to deal with - you know, our own. I am not qualified to judge here. If Joe Zimbabwe or Jessica Poland or anyone from Brazil or Costa Rica has anything to say on the subject of British governance, how much coverage do you think that would get? Maybe Musk has something to say about the price of eggs in the US or the California wildfires, or how many school shootings America can expect. Maybe we would respectfully listen. His pronouncements on how other countries govern themselves - from an unelected billionaire - is tosh. All of it. Meaningless uneducated drivel simply spread to troll others.

4 pointsI'm actually nervous one of my picks doesn't actually exist. One of my Houthi leaders only seems to exist on the "Foundation for Defense of Democracies" (whatever that means) website.

Similarly, 'No more..' is OK, but Alice Cooper made one iconic song and this isn't it.

3 pointsIn my view, he's just an idiot with too much money and too big of an ego. He didn't create Telsa, he bought it and under his leadership the company has been outdone by many of it's competitors in terms of price and reliability. He was kicked out of his leadership role at paypal that he 'co-founded' after less than a year. SpaceX has been, until quite recently, an overambitious failure on most fronts. He has absolutely decimated Twitter's market value. Most of his promises about technological innovations and space travel have either been lies or total hypotheticals that would take decades to be realised.

2 pointsYarrow put a lot of money into Democrat politicians who lobbied Carter heavily for the pardon. I don't know how much Carter looked into the details but it's a healthy reminder that even great people like Carter can make pretty bad mistakes in their life.

2 pointsI think she’s a pathetic excuse for a politician. It’s easy to be a champion for women in 2024 Britain. It’s much tougher to call out extremism and intercommunity problems and pressures, and that’s exactly what her and her party have done for ages. Even at her count during the general election, she refused to call it out. She narrowly held onto her seat due to swathes of voters in her constituency voting for a hardline pro-Gaza independent. Islamism – political Islam. It has absolutely zero place in the UK and it ought to be called out wherever it appears. They have 5 MPs now, which is somewhat alarming. As they booed and jeered her as she made her speech she made it about “women vs men”. That wasn’t the issue at all. They wanted her blood because of Labour’s soft embrace of the Palestinian cause, a matter that should play no part in that constituency’s representation in our own parliament. It was sectarian voting, and she ignored that then refused requests to talk further on it. When she was asked if there was sectarianism she denied there was. Unbelievable. Also, difficult to feel sorry for her getting pelted by the mob given that she openly invites controversy and confrontation. She loved it when the Twitterati was on her side. Reminder:

2 pointsIt wouldn't have been too shocking of a thread in the late 2010s. Making one nowadays is a bit of a Slowpoke meme. He seems to have generally cleaned up his act in the past 5 years and still works steadily. Smoking and abusing alcohol are not really especially worrisome on their own. There's an extensive list of alcoholic celebrities who have lived much longer than Rhys Meyers has. MacGowan was a heroin addict who drank from the age of 5, and he is surely in better shape than that.

2 pointstoo bad he, himself, admitted (in 1962, before his big fame) he participated in the torture of several Algerians. Too bad he was also found guilty, twice, for these acts in early 2000. quoting from his own mouth : "‘I have nothing to hide. We tortured because it had to be done". and, since it doesn’t seem to bother you, here is him talking about what he did. I don’t think « allegedly » and « apparently » are useful anymore.

2 pointsI mean, a famous 60s singer in hospice since December seems like a pretty obvious pick.
-
2 pointsApart from being 98 he's not really in the worst of health. I would have had Noam Chomsky at the top spot personally but it seems the committee are going to keep Van Dyke first until he dies.
