4 pointsHello all, After lurking on the DeathList forums since around 2016, I'm coming out of the shadows, now that someone has kindly created an alt.obituaries thread. It's long been the lone deadpool I've played. Don't get your hopes up that I'm the vaunted, but mysterious, Gerard Tierney. I'm not. I'm his shadow, Allen Kirshner, destined to always finish just behind him in the standings. It's good to meet everyone. A brief word about myself. I've had an interest in death notices for many years. When I first came across the alt.obituaries dead pool in 2007, it seemed like a great place to channel that interest. I began playing it in 2008 and have done so ever since. I've regularly kept up with the information posted in the various forums. I'm impressed by the effort everyone puts in. While I may relegate myself to this forum, in terms of posting, I guess we'll have to see. Everyone has been quite open in posting their lists. I'm afraid I won't be so forthright. Sorry folks. However, as a goodwill gesture, I will list the 12 names I submitted for the 2018 AO Deadpool that were rejected and whom I had to replace: 1) Satoru Anzaki, 2) Ray Bitar, 3) Ami Brown, 4) Dean Francis, 5) Vanessa Goodwin, 6) Ian Lariba, 7) Abdelhak Nouri, 8) Carl Perkins (not the Blue Suede Shoes guy), 9) Joe Redner, 10) Will Rogers (not the man who liked everyone he met) 11) Dingko Singh and 12) Marieke Vervoort Finally, a word to whomever had Dennis Stamp in the 2017 Deadpool I know someone who posts to these forums did. Don't hold your breath on a last-minute QO. Two people had him and I'm the other one. I did everything I could to have him count but no dice. Sent in a number of obits, none was deemed good enough. All for now.

4 pointsBobby Zarin dead, name 464 for me. Still no obit in site for David Fisher, just some blog posts from Doctor Who fansites. I feel like, if we live in a world where a no-name husband of a star of a shit reality TV show that was popular overseas from them that got famous for being ill has an obit and not a writer of one of their nations most popular shows, we might be fucked.

1 pointFirst fortnight in it's looking worse than 2016 tbh. I have a feeling we're in for a shedload, even without nuclear holocaust...

1 pointFrom IMDB Trivia. 'The 43rd and final episode, "What Did You Do in the War Daddy", was never aired. It was supposedly set in the present day but because the BBC were unhappy with the old age make-up, it was never broadcast. The sequel series "Kessler" featured a lot of "The Secret Army" cast in its first episode to act as a bridge between the two.

1 pointTo add to the Joni Mitchell debate, I think she’s actually a decent pick. Maybe the disease she’s currently battling that we know about is only mental, but her brain aneurysm did a lot to her health to the point where she looks very frail and that I actually chose her for my shadow list because of that. I think of how Bruce Forsyth went from being very healthy to basically not seen in public at all because of his aneurysm, and he eventually died because of the toll it took on his health. Joni Mitchell wasn’t as healthy as Forsyth before she went into a coma, plus she’s a heavy smoker, so for those saying that she’s a bad pick I have to disagree with you...

1 pointIf someone told you 5 years ago trump would be president, and he was being quizzed on a potential Run from Oprah would anyone really have believed it?

1 point75 years since Nikola Tesla became completely powerless. He liked to feed the pigeons, though it is not known if he also fed the sparrows, nor if it gave him an enormous sense of well-being.

1 pointOh going off the first page Admin of year - DI Post of the Year - TMIB finally snapping at all the moaning sods in the DDP thread. Shitposter of the Year - the Kid The Farewell Award - CAT! I mean, FFS, I had to sort out my own tech problems this year. Good Riddance Award - it would go to the Kid, but he still posts a dozen times a day or so it seems. Tip of the Year - RadGuy accidentally telling the world about Tracy McGiffin's imminent demise thinking he was talking in Spade code. Crystal Ball - drol on Cosgrave even if it wasn't a 2016 one and doesn't really count as result. Gimmick poster - Bobby M Thread of the Year - Gcreptile's Maths DDP prediction thread. Death of the Year - Harvey Weinstein (give it a few weeks) Joke of the Year - Bee side. Best newcomer - Thatcher (not something I've ever said before in real life tbh) Deadpool - Poker one Best Deathlist pick - Hefner Returnee of the Year - Harrymac if he ever left in the first place. Taking Charon's bump of a daft thread too seriously to make a few crap jokes - guilty as charged.

1 pointThe real black darth vadar is getting old, I know racist people like Joey Russ will always insists David Prowse was Darth Vadar, but he is wrong.

1 pointThe attitude that mental illness is 'attention seeking' is why it is not taken seriously and services are majorly underfunded in this country. Try living with it, it's no fucking fun, I can tell you.
