Just over a year to go... Better start preparing your tastebuds, because that's an intense gustatory assault the likes of which the world has not seen before

Okay, a personal list of 50, this will fit just fine being merged into Shadow Lists which is a thread for people's own personal DeathLists.

Wright King's Hollywood Reporter obit The National Association of Music Merchants have edited Shep Shepherd's bio to confirm he died in late November. Gillian Raine's executed will confirms her death. Nothing for Persinger. Perhaps a mistake/hoax. I would have expected an obit of some kind to have surfaced.

Dementia/Alzheimer's is such a tricky one. It's so subjective. For every 1 you get right you'll surely miss on 3 others. Even those that are deceased, I heard for 3 years Stan Mikita was on his way out, with the usual family denials. This time the denials were accurate. I've played Pat Bowlen in at least one DP each of the past two years, only to be made a fool of. Then you pick Glen Campbell, he dies, and all is right with the world. I think I'm going to leave the slow fades to the rest of you in general. Someone who is 'surely' on the way out I'll make an exception for. But my 'pin the tail on the Alz patient who will die' days are over. IOW, Nobby Stiles, you can have him. SC

The whole trial is ridiculous as it would not fit the requirements that would make it a "fair trial" in the Western world. I am not for one minute saying Saddam Hussein is innocent, but the trial really is a sham. Consider this...recently a libel trial involving News International was moved from Liverpool because it was decided NI wouldn't get a fair trial due to the memories of how the Sun covered the Hillsborough tragedy. But nobody moans when Saddam's first judge was a Kurd - bad enough - and then his second judge is a Kurd from Halabja - the town Saddam is accused of ordering the gassing of. The judge is more likely than not to know people who were gassed, or relatives, etc. But, then again, it is one of those cases when it is very hard to maintain impartiality. Perhaps we should do what we did to Napoleon - stick Saddam on an island and wait for him to die... No, no. no, he's on my DDP team, he must die this year. Why even pretend to have a fair trial, just get on and find him guilty, take the scumbag outside and shoot him. The longer this farce of a trial goes on the more Saddam is enjoying it, there should have been a maximum 6 month limit set on the trials length, how long do you need to find a monster like him guilty. Why should he have any semblance of a fair trial, he never even gave his opponents trials, just torture and death. If the Iraqi government doesn't want to do the job, then they should release Saddam in Basra city centre and let the people pass their own swift justice.
