I asked a friend about this today. He wasn't sure but thinks the Prince is in hospital with renal issues. Pretty common in older people. How serious it is I'm not sure. My own gran was in and out of hospital like a yo-yo with it for years in her 80s and 90s. Heart failure got her in the end though.
@arghton, there are some serious problems with this pool:
1)It won't be over in a reasonable time. Having to pick young people for countries in which you could not find better means this will last about thirty years. I'll be long dead (or hopefully very demented) in thirty years.
2)Only you and me are playing. Theres should be more competitors.
My proposal is to turn this into a "One for Continent" game like @Youth in Asia suggested. It would be much quicker and many rounds could be done, like in the Silver Screen Pool, and there surely will be much more partecipation. Obviously that's one of your games, so the final decision is up to you.
Princess Margaret had much more severe health issues than the Duke of Edinburgh though. I'm still not reading too much into this in all honesty, I still expect him to be discharged sometime next week. Think they're just being careful - no significant signs of concern from the family just yet.
John Caldon, Australian media man who is CEO and Chair of Flame Media (who also have U.K. based projects) is listed under “Prayers” at Westminster Abbey.
He’s also the partner of Aussie presenter Lyndey Milan (wiki).
Don’t know anything more than that but borderline obit territory.
QO?
Says he died Tuesday so he was already dead by the time I had posted the news he was ill.

@Grim Up North A lot of churches put the "Prayers" section in their bulletins online, usually published weekly or fortnightly and can be downloaded as a PDF. It can be a useful tool, but for DDP purposes you'd have to spend a lot of time sieving through names to find someone notable so probably not worth it. Though sometimes if they have a unique name, they stick out.
My childhood, gone.
Several folks filled Bozo's clown shoes on Detroit TV from 1959-80. But Art Cervi filled them the longest -- from 1967-75 on Channel 9 (CKLW-TV) (that means us Detroitwes were watching Canadian TV), and then on Channel 2 (WJBK-TV) until 1980 when Bozo left the air. On Monday, Cervi died at his Novi home. He was 86.
RIP, Bozo

Watching some of the new episodes taped second half of 2020 and imo this is correct. He's certainly got the post-stroke look and sound to him like Andrew Marr when he returned to TV.
Yes, in the nicest possible way this has probably reduced his life expectancy by six months tops. He's reached a great age and deserves to quietly slip away
borrowing a quote from Bette Davis and changing it to make it apt for this
"You should never say bad things about the dead, only good… Rush Limbaugh is dead. Good.”
Also not even March yet already quite a year for GOP losses.
They've lost the Senate, Sheldon Adelson, George Shultz, and Rush Limbaugh, and now Bob Dole looks nailed on for this year.
Kind of like 2018 when they lost McCain, the Bushes, and the House.
I'm already looking forward to voting in May and possibly being able to talk to an actual person like when the library was open.
Had to move across the country really suddenly so I never had the chance to meet anyone here before all this. And my lease prevents me having any pets, FML.
Next door got seven guinea pigs before lochdown though so I might take a few of those once I'm allowed to do more than chat over the fence. Put wee rosettes on them. I bet there's at least one looks like a Tory.
And even if it doesn't my historical ability to finish 3rd in any 2 horse race certainly does.
I also hold the arguably higher moral ground with three actual thesps. Another poor omen.
The ignominy of my valiant luvvies being beaten by:
A basketball player
A right wing shock jock
and
Has to be pretty close to a nailed on certainty.
Let's not forget the possibility of a late showing from the remainder of the field, which when I looked, was not multiple teams of healthy 20 year olds.
I wonder if hospitals ever treat the admission of any 99 year old as an emergency - I can't imagine all the doctors and nurses rushing round the hospital desperately trying to prolong the life of a 99 year old but maybe they do.
Celso Güity, honduran football forward who played in the 1982 World Cup has died at 63 https://hondudiario.com/2021/02/12/fallece-en-ee-uu-celso-fredy-guity-exmundialista-con-honduras-en-espana-82/ (in spanish)
I don't think he'll make 2022 but worth flagging that 94-year old American poet Robert Bly (wiki) has been suffering from Alzheimer's from at least 2012 (when his daughter made it public) and released his last piece of collection of poems in 2013. Not a DDP pick unfortunately.
Legendary actress Frances Sternhagen (wiki), only ever once floated as an idea on DL, hasn't appeared in anything since 2014. She turned 91 last month. I can't find anything on her from the last 5 years. No interviews, photos, health updates. Nada. Ill? I'm not the only one who suspects so as she's a pick for two DDP teams.
