Just visited a museum where I found this painting from 1791 by Rémy-Furcy Descarsin representing a couple of centenarians from the north of France. The man was called Rene Dogereau and the woman Perrine Trouillard. According to some sources Perrine was born in 1667 but I don’t think it’s true because she would have been 124 in 1791 when the painting was done. Anyway it was a so rare to be a centenarian back in the XVIIIth century that this famous painter decided to immortalize this peculiar couple. I thought maybe it would interest someone here, guess it could have been added to the world oldest thread but I wasn’t sure about it

Great hit, congrats. As an American, I'd never heard of her until this year and was hoping she could hang on to join my 2022 list. Having said that, breast cancer sucks, and I'm glad she's out of her pain now.

Does it really matter? Honours are just a pat on the head and a pretty brooch to wear, all a bit meaningless really.

As a Scandinavian by heart it is of course a compliment. I did not want to insult anyone, just to connect my post to the previous one. I had been in Tallin years ago and it reminded me on some Swedish citys I visited. The Estonian language is neither Slavic nor Scandinavian, but due to the similarities to Finnish language, it could be more the second one. Sorry for mixing it up.

A point I've made here before regarding Glitter, great sound - most of which was Leander's vision - the last piece of the jigsaw was to find some jobbing singer who could handle the vocals. Leander hadn't a clue about Glitter at the start and likely never knew throughout the glory years. Had they hired anyone else the show would still be going on, and it'd still be great.
