10 pointsCharming. We won't be introducing your proposed rule. You will either need to accept that, or, if you cannot, find another website to frequent. In any case, please ease up on the whining and personal abuse - it really is a very unedifying spectacle from a grown man. DDT

7 pointsAs an addendum, I don't think that latest thread recipient is deserving of one at all and in usual circumstances I'd merge it, but if comparing its existence to school shootings is how you're going to go about it, then frankly it fucking stays.

6 pointsInstagram reporting the death of Major General John K. Singlaub of the United States Army (retired), at the age of 100. Singlaub, who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, later became chief of staff of U.S. forces in South Korea until he was relieved of the position after criticizing President Jimmy Carter. By all accounts, a notable military name.

2 pointsAye, with all due respects - The National Examiner isn't exactly a peer reviewed bastion of undisputed truth

2 pointsThanks to Cornershop and Norman flipping Cook, I’d guess her slightly younger sister Asha Bhosle is a more recognised name in the UK. Though perhaps TQR is already brimful of Lata…

2 pointsAs the new DDP photos are being collected, and my eyes are starting to twitch from too much screen time, have a quick update: Yes, we lost two heavy criminals Russell Bishop and Mustafa Kayirici. A good joker pick for Salmon Mousse that will be reflected in the scoreboard. Meat Loaf was a big name hit for three people. Banana gets a nice unique hit with Rabbi Israel Dresner. Kenny gets a unique hit with centenarian conductor Everett Lee, who got a New York Times obit but is still waiting for a DDP QO. Finally, Hardy Krüger is a unique hit for The Daredevil, well done! I hope I didn't miss anything, tell me if I do. The Scoreboard sees SalmonMousse at the top with the fresh joker points, risky bet that paid off. Will the lead hold? 2 pointsI agree it’s a boring thread and a boring individual but most of your posts are completely off topic ie political points in the Boris/Starmer/Trump threads etc. I’m sure we can all find annoying little traits about each other (myself included) but what’s far more important is that we learn to co-exist, respect one another and get along (bar SC, who is just a 24-carat cunt).

1 pointJana Bennett got a big bit on Last Word yesterday. So she'd got a BBC obit which counted in the end.

1 pointJames Blunt is fucking awesome!! No, I am not talking about his music, I'm talking about what a nice guy he is, warm, funny, intelligent and self effacing. A genuine good guy.

1 pointI haven't got the patience to listen to podcasts. I could read a transcript of it in a fraction of the time. Same goes for all the videos on the BBC website - as soon as I click on an item and see it leads to a video or audio thing I move on. Give me a couple of paragraphs to read instead. As for Joni Mitchell, I cannot stand her shrill voice. It's like a squeaky blackboard eraser.

1 pointWith consideration to the scale and size of the modern day music industry and where the money is (largely hip hop), she’s a drop in the ocean. That was my point. I don’t dispute that boomers have some kind of strange love for her. Never rated her personally.

1 pointAs requested by @drol... Here are the living subjects of Carl Van Vechten (1880–1964), photographed between 1932 and 1964: Adele Addison (wiki, b. 1925) American lyric soprano Don Bachardy (wiki, b. 1934) American portrait artist, partner of Christopher Isherwood Harry Belafonte (wiki, b. 1927) American singer-songwriter Joyce Bryant (wiki, b. 1927) American singer and actress Frederick Buechner (wiki, b. 1926) American novelist and poet Roy Eaton (wiki, b. 1930) American painter Richard T. Gibson (b. 1931) American journalist and activist. No Wiki page, interviewed several years ago, appears to live in the UK now. Reri Grist (wiki, b. 1932) American coloratura soprano Afrika Hayes (b. 1933) American soprano and music educator, daughter of tenor and composer Roland Hayes. No Wiki page. Leo Holder (b. 1958) American graphic artist, son of Carmen de Lavallade (below) and Geoffrey Holder. No Wiki page, still active though. John Terry Hornblow (b. 1931) American son of producer Arthur Hornblow Jr. No Wiki page, living according to the U.S. residency records. Marilyn Horne (wiki, b. 1934) American mezzo-soprano opera singer Raymond Jackson (b. 1933) American concert pianist. No Wiki page, personal website here. Margie Lou King Barab (b. 1932) American singer and actress. No Wiki page, living according to the U.S. residency records. George Lamming (wiki, b. 1927) Barbadian novelist, essayist and poet Philip Langner (b. 1926) American producer, son of Lawrence Langner. No Wiki page, wife's obit from a few years ago says he's alive. Carmen de Lavallade (wiki, b. 1931) American dancer and choreographer, widow of the great Geoffrey Holder. Robert Morse (wiki, b. 1931) American actor and singer Peter Perenyi (b. 1940) American son of Eleanor Perenyi. No Wiki page because not notable in his own right, gave an interview last year. Leontyne Price (wiki, b. 1927) American soprano George Shirley (wiki, b. 1934) American operatic tenor I went through his entire collection here to get this info. There may be one or two more living subjects, but some are just too obscure to track down a fate for. When I get time, I'll also look at the earlier portraits of Allan Warren, which consist of mainly British subjects – royalty, aristocracy, actors and writers etc.
