3 points! As announced before, an upgraded version of Twisted DL opens ! Rules : Make a list of 20 names + 3 subs who could die between 1st of October 2022 and 1st of October 2023. The one winning is the one with the most points at the end of the year, thus the most hits as one hit = one point. Every time a pick of your list dies, the first sub on your list of 3 replace the dead pick in his/her position and enters the official list of 20. Then, you’ll have to choose another celeb to take the n°3 spot on your sub list. The subs left will move up from one spot putting them a step closer to the official list. If a sub dies before being on the list, then notify it and choose another celeb to enter at spot nº3. Each subs left behind will move one spot up. You can choose similar celebrities as other participants. The only criteria for their admission is a qualifying obit when they pass : a qualifying obit means an article in English or in French. You can choose whoever you want as long as they're famous enough (which means they have articles about their action available online, wikipedias article about them, acknowledgment in their field…) Entries are now opened : you can send me your list in private message. They'll be uncovered on the first of October when the competition begins. Every time you have a hit, just quote your previous list and cross the hit to make it easier for me please and choose another celeb. I'll make sure to make a recap every week (or so) of every death and everyone's points. Feel free to tell me if I forget about your hit in your point ranking or anything like that. Hope everything is clear, Good Luck !

2 pointsJudging by her first PMQs, she won’t last 5 minutes. Absolute dire performance so far with no plans, vision or leadership. Can things get more bleak?

2 pointsTaxi Driver director Paul Schrader seems to have a serious illness but doctors are unsure what it is, either something with the lungs or with the heart: https://dailytimes.com.pk/993117/film-legend-paul-schrader-is-seriously-ill-but-on-a-roll/ However, I already posted something similar in 2020 (in another thread). So, maybe it got worse, or it's not really news.

2 pointsGeoffrey Plantagenet, patriarch of the Plantagenet royal dynasty, died on this day 871 years ago, aged 38. The son of Count Fulk V of Anjou and his first wife Eremburga, Geoffrey was reportedly very skilled as a teen, and king Henry I of England sought Geoffrey's marriage to his daughter Matilda. He was married at the age of 15- and Matilda 26. After his father left for Jerusalem after marrying his stepmother Melisende, Geoffrey inherited Anjou and became count Geoffrey V. While his wife fought against Stephen of Blois for the English crown, Geoffrey was busy capturing Normandy- which Stephen was the duke of- declaring himself duke in 1144. In 1149, he and Matilda ceded it to their eldest son, Henry. Geoffrey died from a fever, and was outlived by his wife and children. The following year, Stephen died, and Henry took the English throne as the first Plantagenet king- the name was derived from the broom flower Geoffrey wore in his hat ("plante genêt"- French for "genisteae plant").

2 pointsPersonally, I'd be quite happy to leave this as the final word in this thread until a post in 15 years confirming the blond numbnut's death. Pure poetry. What a summary.

2 pointsCan't stand politicians. All rich lying snakes. However, maybe we should be somewhat grateful that our PM can speak a proper sentence, unlike that clown the Americans are having to suffer.

1 pointAn incompetent whackjob replaced by a calculating one. I agree: not a good upgrade. And Cleverly at the Foreign Office: Boris, Raab, Truss and now Cleverly! Is it any wonder we're a laughing stock when these people are appointed our top diplomat?
-
1 pointLanded. I'd say Boris was crossng his fingers. "Oh no guess I'll have to stay until they sort out another contest"
