Well this thread needs to get to 200 pages somehow, so here's the first part to a very pointless list, though hopefully some will find it interesting and reflective. A list of selected notable British subjects who were both born in and died during the timeframe of QEII's reign. Part 1: 1952–1982 Tony Brise (1952–1975; 23) Formula One racing driver, died in a plane crash Sid Vicious (1957–1979; 21) Bassist and co-vocalist of Sex Pistols; died of a heroin overdose Olive Morris (1952–1979; 27) Activist in feminist, black nationalist and squatters' rights campaigns; died from lymphoma Jimmy McCulloch (1953–1979; 26) Lead guitarist and bass in Wings and Thunderclap Newman; died from alcohol and morphine poisoning Ian Curtis (1956–1980; 23) Lead singer of Joy Division; committed suicide Johnny Owen (1956–1980; 24) Bantamweight champion boxer; died from injuries sustained in a match Bobby Sands (1954–1981; 27) IRA member and MP (1981); died on a hunger strike Ian McKay VC (1953–1982; 29) British Army soldier, posthumous recipient of the Victoria Cross; died in the Falklands War James Honeyman-Scott (1956–1982; 25) Songwriter and guitarist for The Pretenders; died from cocaine-related heart failure

A fair few ‘examples’ of his cognitive decline are caused by his lifelong stutter. When I was a young’un, I had a bit of a stutter which speech therapy taught me to keep at bay. By and large it works, but there will always still be occasional evidence of it, such as slightly slurred enunciation, long pauses, use of the wrong word/order or mumbling, and this is bound to happen more and more as one gets older. So when it comes to speech, unless he’s said something insane, I’d write it off as that. The doddering around looking lost, however, THAT is one of the legitimate examples of cognitive decline, and something which has only really come to the fore over the past couple of years. Being 80 doesn’t totally explain this away. Realistically, he’ll be around for years to come. But him being physically able to serve a second term as POTUS looks like a major stretch, and the Dems will be fully aware of that and will have to plan accordingly.

Mark Hamill, American film, stage, television actor and voice artist who was cast in "Star Wars" (1977), the remarkable film which started it all, and his life changed after becoming famous worldwide for his role of Luke Skywalker, is 71 today. Hamill is also a voice-over talent with a repertoire of over 200 voices. Jean Sorel, the sensational French film, stage and television actor who was one of the most handsome leading men of the European cinema in the 1960s and 1970s, is 88 today. He worked in the French, Italian and Spanish cinema with such filmmakers as Visconti and Buñuel. With Luchino Visconti in the extraordinary film "Sandra", as the incestuous brother of Claudia Cardinale. The film won the Golden Lion and the Silver Ribbon at the Festival of Venice. Luis Buñuel directed him in the masterpiece "Belle de Jour". Sorel played the paralyzed husband of Catherine Deneuve.

Surely if you were one of the most evil people on the planet you would be celebrated when you got to hell? I’ve never understood the logic in Satan/The Devil punishing evil doers on God’s behalf when presumably the said Devil thinks God is a bit of a Cunt. So if she was the most evil person on the planet and if she is now in hell, I would imagine she has earned herself an upper management position at the very least…

With the news of Peter Tobin being once again in very miserable conditions and the fact equally despicable Peter Sutcliffe scored for the DL, here's a thread to discuss Scotland's worst serial killer.

"It's all his fault we are spending $6 billion in tax payer dollars on HIV and AIDS this month". The cognitive decline of this man is absolutely apparent. I can’t believe there are some on this forum who are still flat out denying it. We ought to keep a close watch on him, and if it gets worse then he should be considered for DL in a few years.

Well looks like John Hartman died on December 29, 2021!! Yet, they only thought to inform the public last week. Worrying that a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame can die off radar for so long.

Mervyn Brown - ex-diplomat and probably the greatest living British authority on the history of Madagascar. Recall reading about him ages ago, saw him name-checked in the paper today because he's just turned 99. No mention of how much of the stuff he learned about Madacascar would still be available if you asked him, mind.

Louise Fletcher is @Toast second unique hit but she only has one other unique so James Sikking will be added to all her Olympians as possible winning hits. I think to win with your only three uniques would be a remarkable achievement.

Seems DL-y to post the novelty cash-in song about him by "Angela & The Fans", which was actually Alma Cogan on the downswing of her fame and, as it turned out, dying of stage 4 stomach cancer:
