Julie Walters, the exceptional actress, author and comedian, one of Britain's finest actresses of her generation, who started her acting career in the early 1970s, widely known for a large number of hit films, including "Educating Rita" (her notable big screen debut), "Billy Elliot", "Mamma Mia!", and the Harry Potter film franchise, who was born in Smethwick, Birmingham, West Midlands, England, is 73 today.

2 pointsWest End Girls may not have won the main game, but it won the battle that mattered. It secured a well-deserved place in the final while Rick’s ancient meme rots forever in the junk folder where it belongs.

2 pointsI couldn't make sense of your reply, until I went back to my post and saw you posted the same exact thing 15 minutes before I did. Apologies for not paying closer attention, I just realized that Sunday what the three day weekend was for. Wasn't trying to steal your original thought.

2 pointsThere wasn't even a bonus point for thanking the host - just a penalty of 2 points if you didn't! You can tell Mrs Pedro that your thanks for allowing her to enter was considered good enough for her to avoid the penalty. I did thank myself profusely for being such a wonderful host, and just an all round great guy . It was a bit sickeningly over-the-top to be honest. (I did say thanks to Clorox when I sent him my team for safe-keeping, so I figured that was sufficient for me to avoid a penalty)

2 pointsO'Connor is the first woman to sit on the Supreme Court so I would say is unquestionably notable enough. Feinstein as you say passes the fame criteria as she is a long term Senator and has been quite a presence in Washington. When she dies be it today or in 15 years she will get an obituary from all the national news sites in the UK and it will most likely be mentioned on all news bulletins of the day albeit later in the programme depending on the news on said day.

2 pointsHmm - an update up to 90 then. There's about 40 living possibles from 1934 alone still. Also, the Cmme picks have opened up a few other names.(If anyone else has done a Gerald Harper and changed their public DOB - fuck them, its a ball park, not an exact science...) 1919 - June Spencer (but imo she'd have been on the list by now) 1923 - Glynis Johns (but ditto) 1924 - Eva Marie Saint, William Russell 1925 - Davie Graham, June Lockhart, mayyybe Ysanne Churchman 1926 - Roger Corman, Norman Jewison, Gudrun Ure, Lee Grant (born around then), Glen Michael (based on Cmme's love of 70s TV stars) 1927 - maybe Estelle Parsons or William Daniels 1928 - Tom Lehrer, Hans Blix, James Watson, Peter Cellier, James Ivory, Dr Ruth 1929 - Patricia Routledge, Len Deighton, Winnie Ewing, Thelma Barlow, Stuart Hall, Peter Higgs, John Nettleton, Joan Plowright, Vera Miles, Berry Gordy, Frank Gehry, John Woodvine, Jerry Hardin, Gaston Glock 1930 - Tippi Hedren, Buzz Aldrin, Gene Hackman, John Astin, Clint Eastwood, Gena Rowlands, Bernie Ecclestone, Warren Buffett, James Baker, George Soros, Eileen Derbyshire, Clive Revill, Sandra Day O'Connor, Mary Quant 1931 - Gerald Harper, James Earl Jones, Don King, Rupert Murdoch, William Shatner, Kenneth Cope, Dan Rather, Ken Bates, Virginia McKenna, Claire Bloom, Roger Penrose, Leslie Caron, Rita Moreno 1932 - Piper Laurie, John Williams, Bill Roache, Petula Clark, Roy Hattersley, Quentin Blake, Bernard Ingham, Dabney Coleman, Ray Reardon, Joel Grey, Brian Murphy 1933 - Kim Novak, Duchess of Kent, Michael Caine, Sian Philips, Joan Collins, Joan Bakewell, Cormac McCarthy, Julie Newmar, Roman Polanski, David McCallum, Michael Dukakis, Michael Heseltine, Michael Aspel, Sheila Hancock, Quincy Jones, Derek Martin, Robert Blake, Biddy Baxter, Barbara Knox

1 pointRead it on Sunday (as in the obvious UK paper that presumed to take it seriously). The claimant is 22, Maddie would be 19 atm, I'm assuming there'll be official records of the claimaint's life in Poland that make it clear she was alive before 12 May 2003 (Maddie's birthdate)

1 pointI wouldn't be afraid to push the envelope on celebrities. Even if BBC doesn't pick it up, Daily Mail cover tons of obscure obituaries. They even reported Tim Considine's death who was a child actor from the 50s.

1 pointKim Kirchen suffered what seems to be a mild heart attack in the Tour de Suisse on Friday and was put into a coma for 24 hours. This will be big news in little Luxembourg, where he has been male Luxembourgish Sportsperson of the Year no fewer than six times. Hey, if Greg Rusedski can win it over here... The race was won by his fellow countryman Fränk Schleck and I'm hoping Fränk's brother Andy can follow it up by seeing off the mighty Contador in the TdF next month.
