Can't get the link to work but if you go on his wife Misty McMichael's instagram there is a couple of minute long video and he appears even worse.A TV pole is obstructing part of his face but when you get a glimpse of his eyes they both appear non reactive open and up at the ceiling .Mouth is wide open like a fish looks slightly paler and waxy in it.No indication of consciousness at all. Also he looks like he is struggling to breathe even though he is ventilated. He has gotten into the hall of fame I imagine because he is very close to the end. There are cameras all in his face when he appears to be actively dying.Quite distasteful.I have seen quite a few friends and family be at the very end and the last thing I would ever have dreamt of doing would be to fill their deathbed room with cameras .I doubt he knows what's going on at all or that he will last the week out. Edit :He is only a finalist and has to wait until 2024 which Misty says will inspire him to keep going. There Is am utterly horrendous photo in the Chicago Sun Times of her facetiming her visibly gravely ill husband.I won't even post the link though as it is clearly an unresponsive man dying on the screenshot. In fact if I came across someone looking like that I would check their pulse to see if they hadnt already expired The Chicago Sun states he is battling pneumonia and about to start a second round of antibiotics but it is behind a pay wall.

I’d say there’s only a 27% chance he even existed in the first place. Wheels within wheels, my friend… (Not really. I just wanted to say “wheels within wheels, my friend” one time)

Louis Prima died on this day 45 years ago, aged 67. - Prima's mother loved music, and tried to train each of her kids to play an instrument. Louis started off with the violin. - Prima was signed to a label in 1934, and would relocate from city to city throughout the next few years. - In 1939, Eleanor Roosevelt attended a show of his in Washington DC, and he was invited to perform at FDR's birthday celebration that year. - Prima was not drafted into WWII, due to an injured knee. - Besides his musical career, Prima was also well-known for voicing King Louie in The Jungle Book. Disney had originally cast Louis Armstrong for the role, but due to concerns from civil rights groups about a Black man portraying an ape, Prima was cast instead: - Prima was diagnosed with brain cancer in 1975, and would fall into a coma following surgery. He never woke up, and died after three years of being in a comatose state.

I know we're not supposed to, but I want to make some predictions here. I predict that Maria Branyas Moreira will pass away in summer 2024, aged 117 and the new WOLP will become either Fusa Tatsumi, Tomiko Itooka, or Inah Canabarro Lucas. Either way, I predict that at some point Inah Canabarro Lucas will become WOLP and live until at least her 118th birthday. I predict she has the potential to make it to 119, 120 and possibly 121. I predict that Juan Vicente Pérez Mora will live to see his 117th birthday in 2026, and enter the Top 10 Oldest Validated People Ever, but unfortunately he will not become WOLP, as he will be overshadowed by Inah Canabarro Lucas. I predict that Anisio Rodrigues Alves, Horacio Celi Mendoza, and Tomas Pinales will all become validated, and Pinales will hold the record of WOLM till his death on 24 September 2020. I predict that new information will come out supporting João Da Missanga's age, and he will live to the age of 116, passing away in 2024. He will hold the title of WOLM from Pinales's death on 24 September 2020 till his own death after 13 March, 2024. Unfortunately, his validation will come through in late 2024 or early 2025 and he won't live to see himself he validated, but his family will be very proud. In late 2024 or early 2025, with the validation of João Da Missanga, Juan Vicente Pérez Mora's time as WOLM will be dramatically shortened, but he will still hold the title for around a year, becoming WOLM at age 115 rather than 112 and becoming the first man to make it to his 117th birthday. No men from 1910 will succeed Juan Vicente Pérez Mora as WOLM, as the next oldest living man will be Gisaburo Sonobe who will gain the title either late in his 114th year or early into his 115th year. I predict that Sonobe will live to see late in his 115th year and possibly even 116 or 117. He will also be the last man from 1911. The last living person from the 1900s will be Inah Canabarro Lucas, but the last living person from 1909 will be Juan Vicente Pérez Mora.

And hardly surprising. They don't get elected anymore, often even when they're selected. 10 years of Thatcher completely altered the make-up of the country: the post-war welfare consensus was ripped up, the country became obsessed with money and private wealth, we became a nation of homeowners and the manufacturing industry was decimated in favour of a service industry. 18 years of losing meant Labour had to move to the centre in order to get back in power. Middle England has been brainwashed into believing money = prosperity and the only way to get that money is growth, which can only be generated by the rich getting richer. It does feel like we should be coming to a turning point on all these issues. The old system is clearly broken and the people are thrashing around for an alternative, but the old order maintains the control by turning everything into a culture war and ensuring Joe Public can't see how one issue (e.g. ULEZ) links directly to another (e.g. small boats) - the changing climate impacting on the number of migrants trying to get into this country, for example (not the only reason, of course). Short termism is everywhere.

August 17 Tenth hit: Michael Parkinson A 'designated survivor' has fallen as the tenth hit. Despite not being picked by anyone, it does move several players who had 15 hits, out of that penalty. A quick update and a hit that brings the game close to the cusp of penalties being removed for those at 16 (5 players) and brings those at 12 (1 player) into bonus range. Total hits: 0 Teams with hit: 0 Punters: N/A Teams with joker: 0 Punters: N/A Third hit bonus: N/A Within 5 predicted hits: Joltin Joe, YoungWillz, Bibliogryphon, Sean (15 predicted hits) As mentioned above it gets complex at 11 hits - either for those who predicted 16 hits and the fact that the low predictors will be within 1 hit. All in all, a straightforward update, with 4 punters moving up the ranks. Joltin Joe jousts into second, Sean joins in a comfortable fourth and Bibliogryphon and YoungWillz edge up the ranks. Diego maintains first place, but 10 players - a third of those in play - are within 5 points of first.
