3 pointsDespite being 98 later this year, he is still not the oldest surviving actor from Mary Poppins with Glynis Johns 100 today & a 'young' Julie Andrews was 88 earlier this week a decade younger than DVD.

2 pointsBig take away from last night's trouncing of SNP being that if that swing were replicated nationally Labour would take about 40 Scottish seats and that'd be very helpful in winning nationally. Can't see a swing on that scale in a general election but something north of 20 Scottish seats would be very welcome. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-scotland-67009605

2 pointsMelvyn Bragg, the prolific author of twenty-two novels, whose first novel was published in 1965, works of non-fiction, and screenplays, broadcaster, probably best known for his notable work as the editor and presenter of "The South Bank Show" for thirty-three years, and a media personality, who was appointed to the House of Lords as a Labour life peer: Lord Bragg of Wigton, and was born in Wigton, Cumbria, is 84 today.

Feels like his curtain call is approaching.

2 pointsShe's an Oscar nominated actress, Mary Poppins is a film that everyone knows and I definitely think her longevity has contributed to her fame, so she is 100000% famous enough. If you took a poll on a British high-street I doubt many would know her name but then would immediately recognise her as Mrs Banks the Suffragette in Mary Poppins.

2 pointstbh no idea if the Oscar nominated, Tony Award winning, Disney Hall of Fame actress is famous. If only she was in one of the most repeated on TV kids films of the last 60 years or something to help me work it out. Or a 70s horror classic. I respectfully suggest your lack of knowledge is down to her having had the common sense to save her money, so she could retire gracefully in her 70s, a quarter of a century ago. She's more famous than half the hobby horse names brought up in the annual "Who should the Cmme pick?" threads.

1 pointThe wisdom of the masses and also in this case, of Zoidberg, both show that the proposal for both Glynis Johns and Eva Marie Saint is the correct one. Please refer to the table below of the actresses named in the threads above and the number of picks they have in the 2023 DDP. Name DDP 2023 picks Glynis Johns 28 (D40) Kim Novak 3 Tippi Hedren 9 Eva Marie Saint 28 (D40) Ursula Andress 4

1 pointTep Vong, Cambodia's most powerful religious leader, recently hospitalised in ICU, underwent blood transfusion due to anemia and pacemaker battery change but already discharged and looks almost as healthy as a mummified corpse. Edit: Now apparently re-hospitalised, but already discharged again.

1 pointI was very tired last night, but I did have a few thoughts on Rishi's speech. He said all the money saved from HS2 will be redirected into other projects - which leads to the question of how is it actually saving money? His speech was on the tv in the staff room at school on mute and the banner at the bottom came up with "Sunak: Britain is most successful multi-ethnic democracy in the world," which I thought was interesting given his Home Secretary told us last week that "multiculturalism has failed". Oh, and to bring it up to date, despite what Sunak claimed yesterday, the government have now said HS2 will only go to London Euston if the private sector pay for it (he missed that bit out yesterday - how odd!) and ITV News are reporting tonight that lines announced yesterday have already been rowed back (shock horror!). Some details on LBC here: https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/government-backtracks-key-transport-pledge-24-hours-rishi-sunak/ It also includes details of Sunak's Twitter video on the announcement, which I'm sure you've seen, but just putting it here for posterity. The one announcing the cancellation of HS2...which was filmed in Downing Street...where he hasn't been since the Conference started at the weekend...when he was telling everybody he hadn't made a decision yet. Lying wanker.
