To fix the cataclysmic damage the Tories have done to this country over the past 13 years, Labour are going to need at least that amount of time again. And they have to do it in a country where austerity has cut us to the bone, debt is through the roof, growth is through the floor, people's rights and freedoms have been trashed (not to mention their finances), global standing has taken a huge knock, housing, schools and hospitals are all in complete disarray and the abhorrent press will attempt to trash them from day one. Ok. I think IMDb is probably lying its ass off with her date/place of birth, and she was actually born Betty Jean Irish in Los Angeles on September 28, 1926. I wasn't convinced of this in the past, but I am now. One, she was described as "92 and going strong" in this January 2019 tweet, which would obviously be premature for February 1927, but not for the above dob. Two, an autograph address here leads to a George and Elizabeth Hoffman. If you reverse-engineer it, it's clearly the above person (same dob + there's a Betty Irish who married a George Hoffman in CA records). Is she dead? Maybe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hoffner, who began working as an operator at Illinois Bell in 1938, passed away Oct. 8. On October 1, Hoffner took the jump that earned her the world record for oldest person to skydive.

Holy shit, I got scared for a second when I saw activity on a Shirley Bassey thread. Had no idea who she was until I watched the 2013 Oscars. At first I was like, wow, this lady has amazing presence and a great voice, especially for someone older. Then I saw exactly how old she was at the time, and to still be able to sing like that? Mariah Carey's voice basically left her at 35, and this woman is still belting it out in her 70's? I was blown away. Since then I've certainly familiarized myself with who she is. What a legendary performer. Don't you fucking dare fuck with Shirley Bassey, 2020!
