1 pointI saw him out and about in the 6th district of Vienna in his prime (around 20 years ago!), and wouldn't have bet my last Sparbuch on him making it to the end of 2024.

1 pointI think this might be the last update before the game concludes... The trigger was the belated obit for Rupert Keegan, a popular replacement pick. Keegan had a couple of years in the Formula One but no great successes there. Hence, we had to wait months for the obit, but luckily, the BBC covers a whole lot of ground. Banana picked him, for example, Cpt. Chorizo did not... But Cpt. Chorizo did pick Silvia Pinal, as did Baby Blue. The legendary mexican actress had been plagued by ill health for a while, but still made it to a grand age of 93. Torva Messor scores a classy unique hit with Helen Gallagher - a veteran US actress most successful on Broadway, but also the recipient of three daytime Emmy Awards. chileanway and the_daredevil share the honors of having picked Earl Holliman. Holliman was a bit of an all-around entertainer, which in the 50s and 60s weren't all that rare. Mostly TV acting, but also a bit of singing and some stage productions. He recieved a Golden Globe Award and a star on the Walk of Fame. Also, I might have missed to give the points for June Spencer in the last update? It's done now. Three players await an obit for Antero Laukkanen. I'm afraind these players will be waiting a loooong time. The scoreboard shows a nerve-wrecking situation at the top, where Banana can't quite catch up to Cpt. Chorizo but the next hit will be the 'golden goal', so to say. It won't be "Black Bart" Harris, as both players have him. But otherwise, it's like, the next hit wins: Rank Team Score 1 Cpt. 1 pointAccording to the mid-week charts, Last Christmas is in pole position to become UK Christmas No.1 for the second time in a row. The only other times the same song has reached Christmas No.1 twice are Bo Rhap (though the second time was with TATDOOL) and Mary's Boy Child if we're counting that Boney M song as the same song as the one by Harry Belafonte (which is a bit of a stretch).

1 pointOriginally we had the Lee Evans gambiting, deliberately hyping up someone with a low-grade, treatable cancer in December. Then we did the reverse of that, which was going so gung-ho on a solid pick that people thought you were bluffing. Then it was just buck-shotting the board with a mix of good and bad info in December so nobody could work out what was viable data. The next great dark art of deadpooling is yet to be discovered, though.

1 pointI remember someone on here saying something about Alzheimers a while back bur I have never seen anything more than that about his health. He is mentioned a lot I think because not only is he due to turn 95 in March but he was a household name in Britain. He was also very active in public life regularly appearing in public and giving interviews then nearly 10 years ago now he resigned from the House of Lords and has not been heard from since. He was passionately against Brexit and spoke out against the idea before the referendum but to my knowledge never commented after the referendum as by that time he retreated from public life.

1 pointThank you so much @YoungWillz.. I sent my 3 teams in. Hopefully I did well being my first time

1 pointI should add the email address is on the current rules page here: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/ddp-rules/ That also gives all you need.
-
1 pointEmail your team (or each team) WITH YOUR JOKER AT THE TOP (well that's how I do it). Add three subs to the team. If you need to explain who your pick is, do that underneath your team. For example, Jim Smith would need an explanation, Brian Blessed probably not. I cannot use Excel at all. I've had no problems so far just using the old style. Hope this helps.

1 pointThanks!! The first residual game has ended after almost five years, and I'm glad to have won it. Might even be my first forum game win. Congratulations to @Bibliogryphon as well, who takes 2nd place! Our picks Arnold Yarrow and Loretta Ford were the sole survivors since 8 April 2023.
