Tonight I finally made a spreadsheet I've been toying with in my head for a while. A garden of remembrance if you will, it's a list of people I've known personally who are now gone. Like it or not I've reached an age where that's a pretty long list of people I've known that I'll never see again. Sub pages for relatives near and far, friends, and even people that I just knew peripherally such as "Mick down the pub" who for reasons I wish I'd paid more attention to at the time strung himself up in his garage. It just all seems so tragic. I am starting to hugely sympathise with that saying from old folks "I've had enough, everyone I ever knew is already gone". Don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of folks still around that aren't on the sheet and I'm not 90 so there's some time yet and life to be lived, but, ha, we're probably all slightly morbid (realistic?) souls or we'd not be here. Note to self: even though you don't drink that much these days, 4 tins and a bunch of minor key songs is sometimes a worse idea than just hitting the sack.

Thanks Captain for running this game and congrats to DI. (I'm guessing if you search "congrats DI" or "Congratulations Death Impends" or some combination, you get a screed of hits only matched by "cunto")!

Right, let's do this.... The latter, but I'm happy to hear any suggestions for the former. Yeah, this is where I'm leaning to as it stands. We have had the DDP run by a duopoly before - and although that was before my time, from what I understand it ran well enough. So the question is what does a gamerunner do throughout the year? As it stands, I suppose the gamerunner's job is split into two main parts: setting the game up and running it. Setting the game up entails: Writing up updated rules Sending out invitation, "game starts on January 1st" emails Responding to people to let them know their entries have been received Checking entries for duplicates/already dead people Entering entries into (currently a spreadsheet that has numerous possible places for error) Entering entries also involves adding new players to a separate database, along with updating running statistics Processing the game to generate the first full team lists/lists of celebrities Writing pen portraits/DoBs Finding pen pics Running the game entails Checking to see who's dead Updating (as it stands) spreadsheets and processing them Uploading the resulting HTML files to the site Writing frontpage obits List of the Lost/Missed/News/Theme Team league stuff (all manual) Correcting errors Dealing with any other queries throughout the year And, although I've not had this yet, one of DDP's bains: emails from people included in the game asking to be taken down. I think that's everything.

BBC give well traveled Sensational Alex Harvey Band guitarist Zal Cleminson an interview on his 70th birthday. Interesting and of interest to locals, but hes nowhere near death, so into "cool online things" it goes.

I just had an idea tonight.I realized I no longer had any fear about dying anymore! Is it the fact I have been dead pooling for some time?Perhaps it is..Do not get me wrong I am not suicidal and hope not to die for many years to come but I kind of feel at this moment in time that whenever the time comes I will be at ease when the inevitable happens.I mean there are many things I want to do before I go but somehow I can`t help feeling immune to the fear of deathOf course I fear how I will die and also have a fear of the unknown afterwards but the notion of dying no longer concerns me as it did a few years ago.I wonder if anyone else thinks that dead pooling on a regular basis makes you more content/comfortable with the concept of your mortality or not?Because I no longer have a fear of no longer being around anymore.I view death as something not worth worrying about and even in a sense a release from the difficulties which seem almost inevitable at the end of someones natural life. I guess in short I wondered what other members perceptions are surrounding death if it was their demise looming. Is it something to fear and fight until the bitter end or is it a release that is necessary for keeping a sense of reality in spite of a dire prognosis?

Carrie Fisher wasn't a miss. She had some mental health problems in the 2000s and some drug problems in the 80s, but I don't consider her as a miss. I don't think Kenny Baker was one either. He was only 82 and his only known health problem was Dwarfism, but there are people who can get over 100 with this disorder, and we wouldn't put Peter Dinklage or Warwick Davis on the Deathlist too. I don't know if Peter Mayhew was a miss, he had some serious health problems in the last years, but if he was a miss he wasn't a big miss. I think it would be okay to put James Earl Jones on the list next year, there are certianly worse picks on the list this year than him (like Dick Van Dyke, Shane MacGowan or Tina Turner), but I think there would be better picks than him.

I note that had the Deathlist went with a random old person who survives the year rather than Z lister Dai Llewelyn in 2009 it would only be one hit so far. And that list made it to 12 hits! So don’t give up too soon...

Feeder was my favourite band when I was a littlun. I still love it 2 decades later. As a side note, I've kept in my notes a list of songs I've posted on this thread to make sure I don't post them again. This is my 100th contribution to this ever-growing DL playlist here. I'd just like to apologise profusely.

Is this yet more pointless allusion to the cloak and dagger situation regarding member no-one dares to name and the silks or another argument between you two? If the former, can you just fucking leave it out until you can actually provide details and save the rest of us the petty oneupmanship bollocks. Thanks.

Very funny indeed. And while we're distinctly on-topic, I just thought I'd add that "Slide, upon ice, Patrick Moore!" is an anagram of "Uno, a moon cricketer, slipped!" Yeah, f**k it, let's just all have a good old whoring session in the Paddy Moore thread. "Look mummy, it's snowing outside!" "Well don't just stand there, go and post in the Patrick Moore thread to see if you can get a rise out of Star Crossed." Words fail me. Actually no, no they don't. Nor have they, or will they. Words fail you, if you're in here and off-topic, trying to be the new Windsor or mpfc, or summat. Next time a Mod prunes this thread, can they include mpfc's off-topic weather-related rubbish as well, please? In fact, delete all posts up to my last one, and just keep doing that every month or so. Or, better yet, make me the Moderator just for this one thread so I can show you all how to run a thread properly. Windsor and his merry band of irritating chucklecunts'll soon get bored wasting their sensitive fingertip-skin when I delete them to within an inch of their pathetic little posting-lives. "The more you complain, the more they'll post-whore, just to wind you up." That's one argument, yes. The argument of some spineless f*****g cretin who thinks that the answer to the world's problems is just to let everyone do anything they want. That's not a solution, that's just anarchy. I think we've all learned our lesson from the Niemeyer squid ranter; anarchy leads to anagrams, as the latest annoying splinter in our collective consciousness, Redmega, has proven so contrivedly above.

She was on a military charter from Guantanamo Bay to Jacksonville Naval Air Station. She overran the runway by about a thousand feet and ended up in the river. Weather wasn't good; thunderstorm overhead with 0.63 inches (16 mm) of rain falling in the 23 minutes prior to landing. The runway isn't grooved so there were puddles.. She landed with a tailwind rather than into the wind. There are reports of service families' pets and possibly working dogs in the hold - below the waterline.
