MortalCaso 1,618 Posted July 29, 2022 Hello everyone! I've been posting on here around a year now, been a lurker much longer. Decided to dip my toe in making a deadpool. With @Bibliogryphon giving me permission, I am going to take his Silver Screen pool and go the opposite way. A deadpool based around TV Shows! It will be a very similar concept, in that everyone picks a TV Show instead of a movie. I will be changing the rules a bit + adding my own twist! Before I go to far into it, I wanted to gauge if this is something a decent number are interested in. The amount of people playing will impact the rules I create! If interested, please respond below or *like* this post. I'll be adding a Rules/Master List post for future updates as well. Expect the Rules to be published + entry dates on Monday, the 1st of August. Thanks!
MortalCaso 1,618 Posted July 29, 2022 Rules: *Aired in the context of this pool, means TV/Streaming* A. You must pick 3 cast members for submission, with at least 1 sub. - If a cast member + sub dies before game start, I will allow a replacement B. Any person selected must have a IMDB or English Wikipedia page created by the time of game start. C. Any TV Show selected must have at least 10 half-hour episodes or 5 full hour episodes created from start to finish (that aired*). D. Franchise TV Show's will be considered separate. For example, Star Trek TNG vs D9. E. The cast of your show must have at least 5 living verified members by your submission. - If a cast member dies before game start, knowingly or not, thus bringing the number below 5. An exception will be made. F. Whoever's picks die first, wins! G. The cast member selected must appear in at least two separate episodes in the show (that aired*)! H. A plan for a tie-breaker is in place, it involves the overall age of the 3 cast members selected. Whoever has the youngest average age, wins. I. You MUST submit your team/show via PM, otherwise your submission is not counted J. If 2 people submit the same trio of names, but for different shows, I will honor the first person who submits it - The other person will be required to use their sub, but I will allow them to choose who to swap out. K. A QO will be very lax this game, I'll accept nearly anything. My Twist! As this website has brought some of the most informed deadpoolers around, I want to make it a bit harder. If any user picks a show, which is then picked by another, that show is eliminated from the game. Essentially this means you take a risk in submission, as any show you pick could be scrapped if someone else is likeminded. It also means it would be wise to have a back-up! Do you take a risk in picking a popular show, thinking others will be scared? Do you pick something unique knowing you have no competition on it?

The cast member selected must appear in at least two separate episodes in the show! 1) Would a multi-part story count as more multiple episodes or as just one episode. For example. Doctor Who - Many actors only appear in one serial but each serial can be 2-12 episodes with the cast running all the way through all parts Seinfeld - Some episodes are split into two parts e.g. The Pilot (S4) once again with cast members appearing in both parts 2) Archive footage (clip shows, flashbacks, etc...) , does it count as a second appearance 3) Minisodes - Some shows will have shorter "mini" episodes that will have been created for one reason or another (Fund raising, online exclusives, dvd extras) do these count (examples - Doctor Who, Not Going Out, Sherlock, The Office US)
Summer in Transylvania 2,151 Posted July 29, 2022 Would someone who was credited as crew in multiple episodes that cameoed in one count as one or multiple credits?

Thanks for asking. 1. Yes, they would count as multiple episodes. A Part 1 + Part 2 situation counts as two separate episodes IF IMDB or Wiki would count them as separate. This is prevalent in reality TV where they have a cliff hanger, but then the next episode is essentially a continuation. 2. I defer to IMDB + Wiki. If they are credited for the episode on one of those two sites, then yes. For example, a fond show of mine The Walking Dead often has multiple deaths a episode. They usually start the next episode with a recap and show the death again, technically the actor/actress appeared twice. If IMDB/Wiki do not credit them for both episodes, neither shall I. 3. No. It needs to have aired. If one of those special "minisodes" airs, such as a Christmas Special or something, than that would be allowed. One of the rules for this pool specified the show must have 10 episodes that aired. As we are discussing Television in 2022, I am willing to stretch that to any streaming service as well. The cast members must be in at least two episodes that aired. I will add this specification to the rules. Good question TV Shows obviously covers a huge background, hopefully this answers your questions. If you disagree or are confused with anything, let me know!

Cast vs Crew would be considered separate. They must be credited as a cast member. Someone being a Product Assistant for 20 episodes, but than also having a small acting role in 1 episode, would only have that singular episode counted. Good question!

Bibliogryphon 9,530 Posted July 29, 2022 The ten episodes thing is causing me a bit of an issue. Many highly acclaimed dramas have fewer than ten episodes but in running time the could be equivalent to 10 half hour episodes

Handrejka 1,903 Posted July 29, 2022 Quick question. Does a cast member have to be credited as the same character in their episodes or is it ok if they have had several appearances but as different chatacters? Edit. Submitted my pick.

MortalCaso 1,618 Posted July 30, 2022 We are currently sitting at 14 entries, no one has picked the same show yet! Game officially starts on the 5th. My plan for the winner involves them picking a theme for the next round. Could be something like only sitcoms, reality shows, westerns, etc. Thanks all for the support!
