4 pointsUKIP have a new leader. His name is Richard Braine. Yep. Dick Braine. He fought off close competition in the membership ballot from another prolific member, Ray Cist.

3 pointsSpeaking as a woman, I hate that sort of attitude. We've already had a woman trying to sort it all out, and that didn't go very well.

1 pointSeen it, reported it. Waste of time. Apparently it doesn't go against the FB standards. No wonder so many idiots get scammed or spammed or even have their accounts hacked.

1 pointAlthough I understand this was not the original intent of this thread, nevertheless it has become the defacto repository of all things radio. So in that light, this goes here: Jack Hagerman, better known to listeners of Alberta's oldest radio station CKUA ( one of the world's oldest public broadcasters) as The Old Disc Jockey, John Worthington, has died at 92. He was with the station for 70 years, and was a veritable encyclopedia of knowledge on the Big Band era. Alot of esoteric knowledge has gone with him, but he is survived by the countless remastered and restored old gems that he saved from oblivion. I have spent many a Sunday afternoon listening to his show, hearing his stories and anecdotes about the music and personalities of the era. https://lfpress.com/opinion/columnists/tait-the-beat-of-jack-hagerman/wcm/c3b7ed0a-f399-4259-ab81-7ea737b52e79

1 pointOn a related tangent - this is something I was thinking about the other day (after working out you'd need to be around about 92 to have seen active service in the second world war.) Here's how old someone who was around 18 would be when certain major historic albums were released, I'm going to start using these albums as a way to judge whether some one is merely old or old as fuck: 21 for The 1975 - I Like It When You Sleep..... 23 for Ed Sheeran - X 26 for Adele - 21 29 for Coldplay - Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends 32 for Arctic Monkeys - WPSIAM 36 for Slipknot - Iowa 46 for Nirvana - Nevermind 51 for The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead 54 for Metallica - Kill Em All 61 for Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks 65 for David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars 68 for the The Beatles - Abbey Road 71 for Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde 74 for The Beatles - Please Please Me 77 for The Everly Brothers - It's Everly Time 81 for Elvis Presley - Elvis Presley's Rock N Roll 84 for Duke Ellington - The Duke Play's Ellington 88 for Vera Lynn - Sincerely Yours 91 for Frank Sinatra - The Voice of Frank Sinatra 94 for Judy Garland - The Second Judy Garland Souvenier Album 97 for Sister Rosetta Tharpe - Bring Back the Happy Days I need to get out more.

1 pointFUCK, what's wrong with people? Caroline Lucas, off of Greens, is proposing a national unity government to prevent us being railroaded into a No-Deal Brexit without the public having a final say in it. Sounds good, sounds reasonable, times of crisis need this kind of measured response. Oh yeah, but the cabinet in this government can only be women. She's sent a letter to 10 female MPs from various parties and explained: Because men are all short sighted, narrow minded and throw their toys out when they disagree with others, as we know. She's looked at this dismal situation we're in, and decided it's all man's fault. So what we should do is bring the country together, by splitting it based on gender. That'll sort this country's deep divisions out.

1 pointWas at our "corner shop"* earlier. Not very convenient on a Sunday, they were out of bread! *Needn't be on an actual street corner to be yer corner shop. PS It's always been bookies to me so no chance with anyone too young to mind John Major as PM...** ** Was about to type Maggie then twigged the young uns on here are mid-90s kids so no, they wont recall that either! Beginning to know how LFN must feel when no one else remembers Lord Liverpool...

1 pointJeffrey Epstein's death is one for the ages. I'm not sure though that this one should be counted in our general reaper score report. We have had 7 days without a DDP hit though. If Toni Morrison had been picked, it would have been 5 days. The negative record here is 11 days (in the "modern" era).

1 pointI already told you and others about the personal circumstances that have been preventing me from posting frequently. Besides, I don't want continue posting here regularly anyway because as far back as I can remember I've used the internet to avoid the real world. I may have mentioned that I have autism before on site and because of autism I have massive anxiety about forming relationships/friendships and frequently used this forum and others to avoid doing which led to my teenage years being full of depression and social isolation and the amount of vitrol I would get at times from this website would only serve to worsen my mental health. Real life issues and the fact that this website can be very bad for my mental health means that I've decided to only post when I have something clever to say or to scream at the engineer for being a tard. I still watch this forum regularly because this subject still interests me but avoiding the real world and living in the computer world is something I can't do anymore too much damage done. Tbf it has made my to know that I am actually missed here because no one can deny things were alot more interesting back when I was posting.

1 pointThanks for posting; that was a good watch. She's a wonderful lady, and it's going to suck big-time when she goes. Maybe she can pull a Valerie Harper and live for much longer than people expect.

1 pointMore ignorant Americanism from the BBC with its constantly declining standards. William Hill plans 700 store closures putting 4,500 jobs at risk Anyone ever heard of a betting store? Thought not. (I know "shop" isn't logical either, but we've called them betting shops ever since they were invented.)
