As we've seen hereabouts recently, the term 'legend' has sparked debate, but... Hilda Woodward - total legend!

I personally think he was an inspiration to a lot of black people because before him there were not many black actors or even characters to look up to in MCU. Since the film came out a lot of kids and adults now can dress up as Black Panther because they are/were represented finally. Now Black Panther has been out you have a black Spiderman in Miles Morales and i'm sure more to come.

Aw really sad - John Courtenay, who - long story short - saved Carlisle United from bankruptcy and left it solvent and fit for a rebuild. Despite the club plunging out of the league for a year nobody blamed him (though our enthusiasm for Roddy Collins, the manager he brought in wasn't so great). Met him a few times because he always had time for the fans and would typically get off the team coach and banter a bit with us before heading into a ground. Died of dementia aged 70 https://www.carlisleunited.co.uk/news/2020/august/a-fond-farewell-to-former-owner-john-courtenay/?fbclid=IwAR0exhTmYiJlPyplDQNcfIZ6nUOhdKbYzFthiMFtsO2juMwahw48aOhaPp4

Eh, could care less about Musharraf. I believe the reason he even made the list this time was that he had a death sentence on him near the end of the year, only for those charges to be dropped around the new year. For Bouteflika, I think it depends on the amount of survivors remaining at the end of the year. I don’t necessarily think he’s a bad pick.

Well, just for context I don't think the two men I mentioned were "legends" either. Although as James Deans potential was likely mythical he's a good candidate. Ahem. Although you've now seen me down the rabbit hole of discovering America has a library of living legends, many of whom are actually dead now. Which made me laugh. "The Living Legend, dead for the past 20 years..."

He was beloved from folk of my generation, with many of them being utterly heartbroken by his death. If you remember Stefan Karl Stefansson’s death, he was also beloved by younger folk who was really sad when he died. Take the response of Stefansson and multiply it by 10, and that’s an indicator of how much more well known Boseman was. I suppose this comment on forum perfectly sums up why some people are more upset for certain deaths than others.

Speaking as aforementioned "not fan of these types of films", he was the star of a film which just made 1.4 billion dollars at the box office, and a part of a franchise that made nearly 10 billion (!) in the last 3 years. James Dean and John Belushi are legends on less bar time. Just because folk are old they dont have to act old.

That's the most compelling argument for moving to France I've ever seen. Ah bugger........ brexit, I knew there was a reason it felt like a shit idea, couldn't quite put my finger on it until now.

Sadly we must accept that there will not be a hit in August so this will not be the first year in deathlist history with a hit in every month. I am therefore revising my forecast down to 16 or 17 hits by years end.
