8 pointsSo three HPDPs in a row we have had a jackpot hit - ie a pick where their base value is high enough, and their bonuses accumulative enough, where that one hit nets 100+ points. 2018 saw Dead Cow secure a runaway win off the freak death of Vanessa Marquez - 225 points. In 2019, LFN took an early lead off Carol Channing's death, whose uniqueness and resume led to 153 points, though he did not ultimately win. And we've had that yet again, with the exact same bonuses as Channing's. Yep, Barbara Windsor has died, and only Toast picked her. She had a long career in panto, and made 19 appearances on Celebrity Squares. All in all this means that the base 40 points have 96 extra bonus points attached, meaning the total haul is a hefty 136. And so we have a huge game changer. Toast takes the lead off the jackpot hit with three weeks remaining. But it is not a done deal. Yorkshire can claw back the lead with any of his survivors (two of whom are centenarians), who all are worth at least 30 points. And for all we know, there could be another jackpot lurking in the shadows - after all, I didn't twig until tonight that Windsor alone could take Toast to the top. 1. Toast 354 2. 6 pointsBrutal night for the Inverse. Our collective was near unanimous Barbara Windsor would Carry On to another year - most placing her confidently high at that. Only msc and Sir Creep (who leaps from 18th to 3rd!) did not pick her. Among those who bet big on her survival was The Quim Reaper. His previous score of 17 doubles to 34. Yet because so many others did likewise, Quim retains his lead! 1. The Quim Reaper 34 2. gcreptile 40 3. Sir Creep 44 4. Newjack 47 5. Book 48 =6. An Fear Bag 49 =6. paddyfool 49 8. 5 pointsFor a teenage lad they pretty much all were (except for Fattie Hattie): Angela Douglas, Margaret Nolan, Valerie Leon, Sally Douglas, Sally Geeson, Patricia Franklin, Dilys Laye, Anita Harris (perhaps), Carol Hawkins, Jacki Piper, Shirley Eaton and countless other uncredited, er, lovely bits of crumpet. PHWOOOOAR!

2 pointsSo we have a leaderboard with two players on at the moment. @An Fear Beagag @YoungWillz For Chuck Yeager and Barbara Windsor respectively. Will there be lots of activity before the end of the year?

2 pointsI've gone all in for the Most Annoying Avatar award at the 2020 Monkeys. What's that, they cancelled it because of covid-19?!
-
2 pointsSaw someone marking the passing of Paul Dodd on Facebook just now. Once dubbed the country's worst football hooligan and banned from every ground in the country. Oh aye, and a Carlisle lad who followed his local team. Not sighted him at a match in ages!

2 pointsYeah, there is no case. This is all a money grab, simple as that. The Trump sheeple have kicked in well over $200MM to his coffers since the election. That's all this is. Have to keep the con going. What I especially love are the 106 House Republicans who are backing the Texas challenge in the Supreme Court, even though those same 106 idiots got elected on the very same ballots that they now want thrown out, apparently. Their hypocrisy is breathtaking.

2 pointsProbably died just in time to be included in TCM Remembers 2020, which should be released next week.

2 pointsNow Barbara Windsor has passed. So, I will call upon Cloris Leachman as my substitute.

2 pointsRIP an icon and I was for sure thinking she would be added next year. How is June Brown doing?

2 pointsI am deeply saddened to hear this news, although I expected it. I knew going into a care home would finish her off.She was too big a personality to be shut in one of those places.I just hope she didn't catch covid. So sad such a big personality was taken away by dementia. Still at least she didn't suffer with it for longer I don't mind saying that I am typing this with tears in my eyes. PS I am also sad that she was not on this years list.

2 pointsBarbara Windsor is a hit for me on this pool I believe, @Bibliogryphon.

1 pointI also have the penicillin allergy thing from childhood, however I read something that that was all a big mistake caused by nurses doing the injections wrong in the 1970s, and causing . The vast majority are not allergic to penicillin at all.

1 pointApart from Jim Dale, she was really the last of the Carry on stars who appeared in a good proportion of them. It's this that I'll remember her for, not bloody Eastenders! To most now they may seem corny and low-brow but the Carry ons have their place in British culture and Barbara will be fondly remembered as being a memorable part in them. Now she joins Sid, Charles, Hattie, Bernard, Kenneth, Joan, Peter Butterworth, Kenneth and the hundreds of others that I'm too tired to name at this late hour..

1 pointThe ones I would personally drop are: 1. John Edrich 2. Shane MacGowan 3. Emperor Akihito 4. Pervez Musharraf 5. Lester Piggott 6. Dick Cheney 7. Imelda Marcos Unfortunately I think Akihito is a bedblocker at this point so that’s probably the spot they’ll cut off someone who shouldn’t be cut like Joanne Woodward...
