Lichauco was kind of a "family of the famous" name, as she was the widow of a diplomat. Not really sure how much her charity work actually contributed to her fame. Hure was certainly more famous, atleast in my opinion for being an ambassador of France three times (to Cameroon 65-68, Israel 68-73 and Belgium 73-80) Most of the "notable living centenarians" wikipedia list seems to be made up of people who have gained fame very late (S. Kowalski, D. Carlsson...), are slightly famous for other reasons than age but wouldn't have gotten a wiki page at, for example 90 (probably over half of them) or the family of the famous types (the first ladies, spouses of famous people, other family) and the actual amount of others is probably pretty small. Boris Pahor, Art Rupe, Lise Nørgaard, Marsha Hunt, Rene de Obaldia, Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani, June Spencer, James Lovelock, Nehemiah Persoff and Charles Njonjo are some of the ones who don't fit in those categories from the 101+ ones.

Norwegian actor Vegar Hoel has died aged 48 (Norwegian paywall link). Far better known in his homeland, but he did have some international fame as the lead actor in Dead Snow and its sequels. They were a bunch of cult B-movie horror films about zombie Nazis attacking some couples on a romantic getaway. The sequel involves Hoel's character raising a zombie Soviet Russian army to take on the dead Nazi stormtroopers, while he tries to bring his girlfriend (she died) back to life. It's the sort of kitchen sink drama stuff we've been missing in modern cinema, really.

@Toast is the perennial bridesmaid of the Scavenger Hunt. Always within 1 of victory before a winner has been declared. Will it be 4th time lucky? I suspect there may be a few more closing in before we're done, though...

I am also uneasy about teams being held back once the game has started because you can be strategic with your replacements by effectively scuppered people's uniques but if you cannot see all the teams it is not a level playing field
  10. 2 points
Seeing other people's teams exposed before the start of the game is off-putting for me. It also makes a nonsense of the uniques bonus.

He suggested today that he’s about to give it up in the next couple of days because he doesn’t want it to impact his health. Sensible decision. He’s done well and he got a lot of media attention to the cause, which I suppose was the key aim.

Isn't he the one talked about as a future PM when Cameron was in charge? Quite the fall from grace.

Irish banker Sean Fitzpatrick, aged 73. Was one of the key men in Irish banking with the Anglo Irish Bank for decades until his bank went to the floor in 2008 as part of the recession, which was more keenly felt in Ireland due to, well, even more incompetent bankers and politicians than most. This led to one of the calmest newspaper headlines of the century. Incidentally, Michael Fingleton's meant to be in poor health too.

Conservative MP for Windsor Adam Afriyie might soon be declared bankrupt as a result of unpaid taxes and thus be forced to resign.

Didn't voice Frieza in Dragon Ball Z, but rather in some of the later Dragon Ball series. In DBZ it was actually a woman... Linda Young (wiki). As far as I'm aware, all of the voice cast of the main English dub of DBZ are quite incredibly still with us, but a lot of the original Japanese voices are dead. Used to love DBZ when I was a kid. Went round to my neighbours house every day after school to watch it because we only had terrestrial TV in my house until I was 12!
