I could very well imagine that both popes will be on the list next year, because it would be one of the rare occasions when something like this is even possible. At least I would appreciate that. But we all know that the Committee rarely grants our wishes

Everett McGill, American character actor who made his debut film appearance in the war film "Yanks" in 1979, and probably best known for his role as Big Ed Hurley in the giant success and popular television series "Twin Peaks", is 77 today. He retired from acting in 1999, but returned in the 2017 "Twin Peaks" revival. Joyce Randolph, American actress who rose to fame when she played the role of Trixie Norton in the 1950s television series "The Honeymooners", is 98 today. An Illinois soldier killed during the Korean War has been identified. Army Corporal William Zoellick was a member of the Second Infantry Division. He was reported missing in action in North Korea in 1950 and died in 1953 in a POW camp. Remains that were reportedly recovered from Pyoktong, also known as Prisoner of War Camp #5, could not be initially identified and were buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, known as the "Punchbowl," in Honolulu. Zoellick has since been identified using dental and anthropological analysis. SC

The Animation Guild recently published their in-progress 2022 memorial list. Spotted a couple names on it that don't have a recorded death date anywhere: Jennifer Dolce (IMDb), editor (The Simpsons, Puss in Boots, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Penguins of Madagascar) Karl Geurs (IMDb), co-writer of the recent classic Bobbleheads: The Movie, a lot of Winnie the Pooh/Strawberry Shortcake/Care Bears-type stuff, and a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Janet Quen (IMDb), vfx artist (Volcano, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, Spider-Man, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Casino Royale, about 100 other movies) Paul Shardlow (IMDb), art director and animator (Watership Down, Heavy Metal, Madagascar, Bee Movie, had an acting role in Flushed Away) There's a tweet suggesting Geurs died in May. Don't see anything on the others.

I wouldn't be suprised if his lungs are completely fucked from long over half a century of smoking cigarettes, weed, cigars, e-cigarettes, everything. Someone I've known (but met only once in recent years, don't know much about his current condition) has one of those for advanced COPD, didn't see it the first time I looked at the picture.
