Gordon Thomson, the accomplished Canadian actor, who started his career on stage in the 1960s, a classically trained stage actor, best known for his roles as the charismatic, hateful and sexy Adam Carrington on "Dynasty", and Mason Capwell, he assumed the role from Terry Lester, on "Santa Barbara", is 78 today.

He was also in The Hunt For Red October and Who Is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe? In fact, Ackland is the only one still alive, of the few who I created a thread on at the conclusion of 2020 as Yaphet Kotto, André Maranne and Robert Fyfe all died in 2021.

As much as I am going to lose it when he goes, that would be epic.

Because while Clinton, Bush, and Obama did do war crimes, they still couldn't beat Kissinger in scale. Kissinger killed millions of people across the world, from Argentina, to Chile, to Bangladesh, to Cambodia, and everywhere else that was affected by him. He took his terror and spread blood across the world worse than any president could've done. In other words, Kissinger was worse because his war crimes happened across the Earth.

50 years ago today, on March 1st 1973, Pink Floyd released their eighth studio album The Dark Side Of The Moon in the US. It remained in the US charts for 741 discontinuous weeks from 1973 to 1988, longer than any other album in history. After moving to the Billboard Top Pop Catalog Chart, the album notched up a further 759 weeks, and had reached a total of over 1,500 weeks on the combined charts by May 2006. It has sold an estimated 45 million copies.

I had to look up who this guy was when he appeared on the list. I didn't know our favorite gym teacher was still kickin' *air guitar*.

I was just joking, @TQR. My chances are few. Your team is very consistent and strong. It's not a surprise, especially considering what a great player you are.

Probably just some massive brain rot she’s been dealing with on a regular basis

He appeared again at a signing event in November: Looks a little frailer than he did in the late 2010s, but nothing out of the ordinary for 93 (happy belated). Feel like he'll probably debut on the DL next year if he makes it?

Kim Woodburn will be 77 next March and has a terrible complexion recently. Add to that the fact that she must be under a considerable amount of stress since Coleen Nolan had a go at her on Loose Women a few weeks ago. I can't see her bowing out in the next year or so but she's worth keeping an eye on as she is nearly 80.

I quite enjoyed that. Definitely a man, definitely on-screen, definitely pre-1965 but definitely not cooking in the sense we're talking about. If anything, it's reinforcing the view that men can't cook. But good research and points for effort! Any advances?

I have discovere that I have "a thing" for belt buckles. Today I went to the Antiques and Collectibles fair with a couple of friends, as we'd never been to one before and thought it might be interesting. It was in this massive building, so there were tons of stalls, selling all manner of rubbish. Anyway, early on I discovered that belt buckles - not belts, just the buckles - are somewhat common amongst vendors. I then spent the rest of the day scouring the tables for belt buckes. Nothing else, just belt buckles. I came away with two (yes, only two!) - one is solid pewter and reads: 1999 Labatt Brier Edmonton ...the last shootout of the century!. The other is similar to the one I bought last week (image posted earlier in this thread), except it has a photo of a logging lorry on it. It's nnnniiiiicccceeee. Honed my bargaining skills too: the latter I got for $4 instead of $5, and the former (the solid pewter one) I got for $7 instead of $9. Bargains!! Buckles I resisted include a Crown Royal buckle, which was very tempting but I didn't like the shape, a 1985 Calgary Stampede buckle, which was very nice but too heavy and too expensive, and an HILARIOUS buckle which had a gun in the middle and which read NRA: honoring our shooting history.
