2 pointsJames Ellroy, the enormous American novelist, one of the most important and influential crime writers of our time, best known as the "Demon Dog of Crime Fiction", the rightful heir of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett, the extraordinary author of such classics as "The Black Dahlia" and "L.A. Confidential", whose mother was brutally murdered by an unknown man when he was just 10 years old, is 75 today. Catherine O'Hara, the stupendous actress and comedian, who began her professional career in the 1970s, who made her big screen debut in 1980, probably best known for playing Kevin's mother in the box office hit "Home Alone" (1990), and "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" (1992), and as the hilarious Moira Rose on "Schitt's Creek", who was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is 69 today.

2 pointsWhether you love him or loathe him, to me he feels like more of a link to the past than any of the current list. The Nixon Presidency and the Watergate era feels like another world to me and ancient history, and yet one of the leading protagonists is still here in 2023. It will be an end of an era when he goes.

1 pointI can't stand Queen, but for what it's worth, I think These Are The Days of Our Lives is a much better song than Innuendo. For a start it isn't over 6 minutes long, and it actually has memorable, meaningful lyrics and a cohesive structure. It doesn't deserve to be dragged down by the cynical marketing move of shackling it to the tedious, bloated, overplayed wedding disco song.

1 pointWe have a clear result! Thanks for voting! Once the 80's are done, I'll start the 90's. Although there were a lot of #1 hits, especially in the late 90's, I'll stick to the familiar voting procedure (+4, -6, top 25). Maybe there will be a KoS in which the top 25 of the decades played compete against each other... The idea for the ESC voting was that all UK entries compete against each other. But of course all winning songs could also go to the KoS. Or if it's supposed to be a trashy KoS, all last places. Although... ESC is already trashy enough!

1 pointEasily one of the most overrated managers of all time the way the media go on about him you would think he was sir Alex Ferguson or Pep Guardiola. 1 major trophy in 30 odd years says different. I can’t stand him either obviously committed tax fraud but apparently can barely read, yeah whatever.
