I did say that there was plenty of scope for a change or two at the top, and indeed that is what we have. Only a few hits to report, (feel free to point out any more obscure ones that may have been missed), but at this time of the year a few hits is all we need for a shake-up. This is who I have since the last update: 16th October: Eric Tweedale 3rd November: David Berglas 7th November: Frank Borman 10th November: Johnny Ruffo. An the big news is that we have a new leader! @gcreptilescores with a Ruffo hit to take the lead, and with only eleven down (plus non-scoring Steve Woodmore), and a Joker still in the back pocket, they are now in prime position to take the title. But a lot can, and probably will, happen in 7 weeks. The other big winner is @BuffaloPhilwho jokered with Ruffo to move up into 3rd position, only 1 hit off the lead. They have a fair few differentials from the two teams above, so a run at the top is a real possibility at this stage. @RadGuyenters the top 10 in 7th place - still needs a couple of quick hits to get to the top, but again has enough outs to start catching the leaders. Here is the top 10; the full scoreboard is as always on page 1. Gcreptile (1842 points) 11 hits [Burt Bacharach, Chris Snow, Daniel N Paul, Frederic Forrest, George Alagiah, Grant Turner, Haris Ibrahim, Johnny Ruffo, Menahem Pressler, Roland Griffiths, William Consovoy] The Unknown Man (1687 points) 8 hits [Bob Barker, Bobby Charlton, George Alagiah*, Gianluca Vialli, Giorgio Napolitano, Milan Kundera, Rolf Harris, Ted Kaczynski] Buffalo Phil (1674 points) 10 hits [Ady Barkan, Ben Ferencs, Bill Butler, Bob Barker, Gianluca Vialli, Guido Gorgatti, Hazel McCallion, Johnny Ruffo*, Lucille Randon, Tim Keller] Wannamaker (1603 points) 11 hits [Bob Barker, Frank McGarvey, George Alagiah, Giorgio Napolitano, King Constantine, Martti Ahtisaari, Milan Kundera, Pervez Musharraf, Rolf Harris, Ryiuchi Sakamoto, Ted Kaczynski] The Spinosaurus (1426 points) 7 hits [Alan Arkin, Bob Barker, King Constantine, Horst-Dieter Hottges*, John Devitt, Michael Parkinson, Tony Bennett] Death Impends (1423 points) 9 hits [Bert I Gordon, Billy Graham, Bob Barker, Ed Ames, Francoise Gilot, Jimmy Weldon, Lucille Randon, Mervin Shiner, Milan Kundera] The RadGuy (1375 points) 8 hits [Ady Barkan, Faye Fantarrow, Frank McGarvey, George Alagiah, Jango Edwards, Johnny Ruffo, Ryiuchi Sakamoto, Tim Lobinger] TQR (1373 points) 7 hits [Bobby Charlton, George Alagiah, Harry Belafonte, Michael Parkinson, Mohamed Al-Fayed, Nigel Lawson, Tony Bennett] Thatcher (1253 points) 8 hits [Federico Bahamontes, George Alagiah, Gianluca Vialli, Gina Lollobrigida, Milan Kundera, Rolf Harris*, Ted Kaczynski, Tony Bennett] Yorkshire Banker (1208 points) 7 hits [Dick Clarke, Dick Groat, Francoise Gilot, George Alagiah, Giorgio Napolitano, Hsing Yun, Winnie Ewing]

That report says Spider Stacy, his old Pogues bandmate, has been to visit him now. Spider lives in New Orleans so if he's rushed off to Dublin now, that doesn't sound great news for Shane imo...

IF he makes it, the committee should be bold and put him at no. 1. Jimmy Carter isn't dying anyway

Okay, kill this thread if it's redundant, but I think Australian Daily Soap "Home and Away" is a total death trap, possibly because of cheap sets full of toxic plastic sets. Here's the proof: In 2001: Megan Connolly - drug overdose at 27. In 2006: Belinda Emmett dead of cancer at 32 - press link is obsolete, but it's noted on the forum. Right now: Johnny Ruffo, diagnosed with cancer at 29, now 32. In 2014: Tessa James has Hodgkin's lymphoma at 23, but survives. In 2016: Russell Kiefel, collapsed on stage and died shortly after. At age 65. In 2017: Jessica Falkholt, in a deadly car crash at 29 (she was dizzy because of the toxic fumes). In 2018: Catherine Godbold dead at 43 of cancer. In 2018: Cornelia Frances dead at 77 of bladder cancer. Also in 2018: Olivia Deeble, hospitalized with a brain swelling at 18. In 2019: Annalise Braakensiek, "found dead", in her home at 46. In 2019: Ben Unwin, "found dead" at 41. In 2019: Darius Perkins, dead of cancer at 54. In 2019: Joel McIlroy charged with assault, blames it on his Huntington's disease. In 2020: Dee Thomas has cancer at 54. In 2020: Mick Innes dead of lung disease at 67. And of course, Heath Ledger's suicide in 2008 because the cancerous fumes gave him depression. Also, here is a list, which is incomplete: https://home-and-away-soap-opera.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Home_And_Away_actors_who_have_died. Most of those actors/actresses get QOs, and it seems there are about 2 early deaths per year, so maybe it's worth paying more attention to this show.

I meant to start this last year after Bacall's death and the 40th anniversary of the film. There aren't many of the cast still with us, thought I'd start a thread to see what is what as I think we'll lose at least one more before the end of 2016. Sean Connery - born 1930 has had throat cancer in the past and is rumoured to have dementia of some sort Albert Finney - born 1936 , kidney cancer Michael York - born 1942 amyloidosis Vanessa Redgrave - born 1937, not aware of any health issues. Jacqueline Bisset - born 1944, not aware of any health issues I think that's all the main ones who are still with us I knew there was someone else, Vernon Dobtcheff born 1934, still working

MacGowan is surely a better bet, but there was a Jimmy Carter sweepstakes attempted 8 months ago which I certainly regret…

More good news for all Doctor Who fans on here. The surviving audio (with linking narration) of Marco Polo, The Dalek's Master Plan & The Wheel in Space have all been added to BBC Sounds, don't know why it's just those three but I'd only assume that there are more on the way. Also now on BBC Sounds are a couple of Big Finish audio dramas, specifically the first few Tenth Doctor Adventures, Out of Time 1 & The Beginning (with more on the way). And in case anyone didn't know there have been 3 Torchwood audio dramas on sounds for a while and if you have Spotify lots of early Big Finish is available to stream on there.

I think what makes this a different case from boxing deaths and other sports related deaths is that this type of incident is not a regular part of the sport, albeit a freak accident that falls outside typical play. Should be noted whoever was arrested (pretty obvious who) was only arrested, doesn't seem like they were charged with anything. I wouldn't expect anything to come of this, just seems like they're doing their due diligence and following the legal process. Nope. It's a pretty divided issue it seems. It's mandatory as a minor, but once you hit a certain level/age it's not mandated. Kind of ridiculous seeing as how I've personally never played without one and never had an issue with wearing it. Some claim it's a nuisance, but I wouldn't particularly take those people very seriously. I could understand players not wanting to wear a mouthguard or a cage, but not wearing a neckguard can be lethal.

Posted on the 2023 deaths thread too - apologies for posting something simple here, but a conspiracy theorist has died and before you ask, the obit here chronicles declining health and increased need of care, so unlikely anyone he outed snuck up and poisoned Kenn Thomas, or owt: https://copycateffect.blogspot.com/2023/09/KennThomasObit.html?m=1&fbclid=IwAR2S22NltDFP9oU4h6tCYtu8LUIn603G0u4XX6LIMR0zosen_sQhzYnjLic

I still think that George Harrison was the coolest Beatle - at least for the Deathlist. He smoked himself to death, got brain cancer and fought off an armed attacker by chanting Hare Krishna!!in that order? That is cool!
