With Ray Wilkins dead, Joey wins his first deadpool! Cheers!

Razor Ray "Butch" Wilkins, a young lad with a lot of pah-shun (pronounced: passion)* has died at the age of 61. When not giving his opinion on all things football to Sky Sports, Wilkins had a long career in football coaching, as well as stints as the managers of Chelsea (caretaker but it counts), QPR and... the Jordanian national football team. This succeeded a lengthy career in football, in which he won the FA Cup with Manchester United, but played for teams as opposite as PSG, AC Milan and Rangers. He was also captain of the England football team, famously getting sent off in a group stage game against Morocco when he the ball at the referee. Being full of spirit (though perhaps it turns out, too much), his early demise is no surprise, though the timing on when perhaps was, hence his appearance only on the final few teams that entered this months Cup. Indeed, yours truly first heard about the impending demise when I saw Heef's team and thought "Huh?" Speaking of Heef, he is one of 4 teams who gets point, but there's no cheering, as one of those other teams is DDT! Got to get up very early in the morning to check out the Devonian Prince of Darkness, you know. Also gaining points are The Dead Cow, who benefit from our Sean handing in his teamsheet a bit too early this time round. Also scoring is Joey, who takes an early lead against Sir Creep in a match that could twist and turn all month. Oh, and the YoungWillz game is goalless. I know, you're all STUNNED, right? 1. The Dead Cow vs Sean 3-0 2. Heef vs DDT 3-3 3. Deadsox (reigning champ) vs YWillz 0-0 4. Sir Creep vs Joey Russ 0-3 *PS - That opening sentence will make far more sense if you've ever heard him on commentary.

The Santa Ana winds have arrived in west Texas. (20-30 mph constant) What you see there is sand. Fun to breathe, fun to eat, fun to stare at. SC (edit: PS, msc you can see my internet/phone plight late last week. When I say remote, I mean remote).

Well, it's over 24 hours since I started a thread so... The death of Mrs Ralph Vaughan-Williams was a timely reminder of the existence of widows much younger than their more famous husbands and wives. I think it's time we pooled our knowledge on those obit-worthy if low-profile survivors. The likes of Imelda Marcos, Betty Ford and Nancy Reagan are already on the DL radar. Let's limit this collection to those out of the headlines but still obit-worthy to DDP standards and beyond. I'd wager the following brace would score, even by the exacting standards of the CPDP. Step forward, Bing's bed-steady: Kathryn Crosby and Prime Minister's poetess partner: Mary Wilson.

Authorities say 45-year old Bojan Sprah, a contract worker at BMW’s South Carolina factory, was killed immediately from massive head injuries in the plant’s paint shop. There was no life saving measures that could be done him. Sprah was trapped in the lift that takes vehicles from the paint shop to the body shop. So the way I see it, all the vehicles got Sprah-painted. I'll get me coat. SC

A little old perhaps but it gave me a laugh. Did you know that the year before the divorce, Sir Paul gave Heather a plane for Xmas. The year before he gave her a Gilette Ladyshave for the other leg.

Participated in my school's walkout today. A couple of short speeches followed by 17 minutes of silence for the victims of the Parkland shooting. The moment of silence was almost disrupted by a special kid who ate snow and wouldn't stop talking. Also, this crazy conservative activist kid had a plot to blow air horns during it, but the deans caught him before he could. All in all, it was a very somber moment. Hopefully the thousands of kids who walked out today across the US sent a message to the politicians that they gotta finally do something.

I predict a riot. But being neither a Kaiser, nor a chief, I suspect no-one will take me seriously. On other news I predict Iceland will embugger air travel again this summer - go by boat
