A minimum of five million people died in Congo's civil war and it barely made the news. Ten thousand people there have died of measles in just over a year, a condition for which a vaccine exists, yet we barely bat an eyelid at all this completely unnecessary suffering. Those who tremble in fear at the onset of the coronavirus would do well to develop a sense of perspective and be thankful for what they have. I'm sorry to say this country has become riddled with self-serving, yellow-bellied, lily-livered cowards. What's happened to our fighting spirit? My God, we're only asked to stay on our sofas for a few weeks and you'd think it's Armageddon. We seem to have lost the ability to suffer, even for a little bit.

Most obvious question for us is when did he last see his dad....

Might as well open a thread for him as he's managed to get the 'rona. 71 years old, self isolating, displaying mild symptoms. You can guarantee he won't be in an NHS bed sucking on an oxygen mask.

Unsure about Prince Philip, but he last saw The Queen on 12 March and the extended family was last together on 9 March.

There is. Giving oxygen, eventually being on ventilator, antivirals, antibiotics, etc. If you receive and adequate treatment pneumonia is less likely to progress. Good care makes the difference.

Correct, sort of. But you can treat the symptoms and aid the body’s recovery with a combination of drugs.

It was caught early, so it does not pose a treat to Charlie's health. In the worst case he will be hospitalized for a bit. For precautional measure, he has been far from Philip and the Queen recently, otherwise it would have been very difficult for both of them to recover. And the Queen's death for COVID would have been a huge shock. Since I guess she is completely isolated that is not going to happen.

...she will do anything, say anything, to keep relevant. Since Corona started getting more attention in the media, the so-called Green Agenda fell off the radar. This is also known as attention seeking behaviour on her side.

I couldn't get any bread in the supermarket today so I went to the park and threw I.O.U's to the ducks.

Going to be alot of suicides connected to this virus.Financially and the loss of loved ones and those left behind unable to cope. One huge plus is thank god children aren't effected as much. Toast gave some good recommendations. I found myself trying to ignore this virus now , the two things that have really took my mind of it the best are reading fiction books and playing computer games. Doing Colouring in books with my daughter aswell.

Struck me in the course of a gallows humour conversation last night that the whole Covid-19 situation must be fucking over the business model for Dignitas good and proper. You gotta feel for them, eh?

Bump. It's bad enough here in Austria, but Boris Johnson allowed British schoolchildren to be infected with the virus for a long time. They will spread it rapidly. Gooseberry Crumble was right with his prediction. We will lose many Italian, Spanish & French celebrities & I can only hope it won't be the ones I really like.
