Crazy to think I was born on his 77th Birthday back in 1985 and he is still going strong remarkable longevity, hope he has a few good years In him yet, I know I won’t be around in another 77 years on my 112th Birthday, doubt I will make it to 77. Legend.

Yeah, but... we did have a nasty surge of norovirus here in the UK in November-January, and an unusually severe cold bug in early February (after we knew about coronavirus) that wasn't coronavirus. People will likely have caught this thing without noticing but its also as likely folk are now attributing their allergies or normal cold bugs a few months ago to "oh did I have coronavirus instead?".

Article is 18th March. To be brutal - a royal death - or any high profile death - would be a welcome distraction from fucking coronavirus.

Bit of a sad one for those of us of a certain age... Alan Merrill of the Arrows dead (coronavirus apparently) Many fond memories of their ITV programme, and of course they did the original version of 'I Love Rock N Roll'.

'Mr Thomas Schaefer, the finance minister of Germany's Hesse state, has committed suicide apparently after becoming "deeply worried" over how to cope with the economic fallout from the coronavirus, state premier Volker Bouffier said on Sunday (March 29).'

Certain other countries like South Korea test everybody in the area they've got a confirmed case.

While infection rates aren't accurate, death rates are probably pretty accurate, and you can probably extrapolate (multiply death rate by 50-100) to work out what the real infection rate is in each country. Death rates in tropical climates seem relatively low and not accelerating like in Europe. Their disadvantage is people live much closer together, and also education is poorer so they might not understand government rules or the reason behind them.

Influential Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki, who created new sounds from the forms and styles of works from past centuries, dead at 86 years: https://kultura.gazeta.pl/kultura/7,114526,25828164,nie-zyje-krzysztof-penderecki-wybitny-kompozytor-mial-86-lat.html His most popular composition is likely "Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima," and he received the Commander's Cross Award in 1964.
