Yes, and the number of funerals here has increased by about 20% compared to usual implying more deaths than officially reported. But even given that, the outbreak is nowhere near European levels. Bali, where most Chinese go (in their tens of thousands, including direct from Wuhan), has barely had any deaths.

The Ink Spots had ten members during their original run, all of who are now dead. Impressively the last one only died in 2009 aged 105 (Huey Long) Bands with surprisingly high death rates considering when they had their recording careers: LFO - debut album 1999, 2/3 already dead (Rich Cronin in 2010, Devin Lima in 2018) Original line up of Slum Village - debut album 1997, 2/3 already dead (J Dilla in 2006, Baatin in 2009) Cali Swag District - debut album 2011, 2/4 already dead (M-Bone in 2011, JayAre in 2014)

I just put my list on the thread above. Full disclosure: I had submitted it (to Capn Cho via PM) just hours before news broke of John Prine's death, and I had him at the #4 spot. To keep things clean at the start, I have replaced him with Bev Cleary. I know Capn Cho got his list in with John Prine on it in good faith before word broke of his death, and I was leaning toward letting him keep the points, but in fact to keep things clean and follow the letter of the law of most pools, names submitted on the same day as someone dying should be discounted, again, to keep things clean and avoid controversies. Cho - could you please replace John Prine with another name?? With only one more death before closing of the pool, we have a total of 11 entries so far. (I have PM'd Yvonne to get her to redo her list as it does not meet the requirements for entry). I was hoping to get somewhere in the range of 15 to 20 entries, so instead the pool will close at the time of the next death on the list of 80, OR the arrival of the 15th qualifying entry, whichever is LATER. Later lists are really not at much of a disadvantage, except they miss the opportunity for picking the names that are already expired. But with 80 to choose from, there should be plenty of opportunity for a wise chooser to catch up. Finally, scoring is underway, with Stirling Moss providing the points. Again, I will post the entries and a scoring table once the third death happens.

Ah, well that Player of the Month thing wont add up itself. I wish it would, being a well known good for nothing DDP co-host and all that jazz... PS Reptile is now aware of the Scoreboard issue. It shall be seen to.

I think he should be on next years list just so they can use the headline 'Tombs in the Tomb' when he dies !

50’s one-hit wonder group The Penguins (“Earth Angel”) has no surviving original members as of last year. The Blue Moon Boys (Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and DJ Fontana), Elvis Presley’s original backing band, have all passed on - the last one died in 2018. Duke Fakir (age 84) is the last original member of The Four Tops I looked up Manfred Mann out of curiosity and found that all of their former members except Jack Bruce are actually still alive, and in fact they’re another band that would qualify for the “all members made it to age 70” list that was being tossed around last week.

Excuse my ignorance, but who was in the non-classic line-up?

I'm still giving that "honor" to Scott Hoch, whose missed putt to win the 1989 Masters was from just two feet away...Hoch rhymes with choke! Now that I think about it, if you really want to see a choke, it doesn't get much worse than the 2012 Kraft Nabisco Championship, where I.K. Kim missed a 14-inch putt to win.

I would have predicted Tim Brooke-Taylor to have outlived Bill Oddie and Graeme Garden. Very sad news

Hi everyone - thank you for all your good wishes. Up to now my symptoms have been okay and think I’ve got a mild version but I know the serious, dangerous stuff can all happen at the end so not taking anything for granted. For now I’m fine but will stay off here for a couple of weeks. Cheers, GUN

Anyone thinking this will be a cakewalk election for either Trump or Biden is mistaken. Trump has done a pretty bad job with the coronavirus response, which in a normal year would put him at a massive disadvantage, but then Biden is also Biden and has his record that Trump could try to go to the left on. Anyone saying they know for sure what’ll happen in the general, well, we just don’t know.
