1 pointI'm stretching the term 'famous' here, but Brian Fraser, the technical producer of the morning show at Ottawa's top news/talk radio station, whose two year battle with blood cancer was documented on that show, has died. He was 26. Fraser had received well wishes from the likes of Mario Lemieux and Drew Brees while battling leukemia. His death was acknowledged by Ottawa mayor Jim Watson and several sports organizations and broadcasters. https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/cfra-s-brian-fraser-1994-2021-1.5325330?cid=sm%3Atrueanthem%3Actvottawa%3Atwitterpost&taid=603a0a247459310001cdeb04&utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter

1 pointIn the past I thought Ken Clarke and Neil Kinnock but both are now suitably superannuated and retired from frontline politics so that it would just be classed as a normalish death rather than a John Smith type surprise departure.

1 pointCraig Charles. He had a heart attack two years ago and had four stents fitted. He claims to have gone from two packs of the gaspers a day down to half a pack, although this interview suggests he isn't exactly moderating things.

1 pointJust remembered Fikre Selassie Wogderess's death and was wondering how many former Ethiopian rulers are alive. I checked and there are only four: The oldest and worst one of course being old Mengistu. Still alive at 83. Mulatu Teshome (b. 1957) is the only other former head of state alive. He was the president from 2013 to 2018. Tamrat Layne (b. 1955) prime minister of the transitional government between 1991 and 1995 is still alive, too. And of course Hailemariam Desalegn (born 1965) who was the prime minister between 2012 and 2018.
