5 pointsWilliam Reynolds dead at 90. Had a number of film and TV roles in the 50s and 60s. Probably best remembered for starring on The F.B.I. and his lead role in the Twilight Zone episode "The Purple Testament".

4 pointsFor those of you not around at the time, probably THE most pivotal figure of that era in the progress of humanity towards a better world. He certainly stopped pop stars predicting nuclear wipeout which they had been doing for some years, although his contribution to the rise of David Hasselhoff as a singer should not be forgotten as a remaining stain on life on Earth. In all seriousness, his policies were for better rather than worse, though short term suffering of the people couldn't be tolerated and in came the inebriated Yeltsin. Just like de Klerk, a convert to legacy, although whether he really wanted Putin's return to a glorious Soviet era Russia might latterly cloud that.

1 pointRest in Peace Gorby. Politician, Nobel Laureate, and, above all, Pizza Hut advert star.

1 pointOddly poetic to see the last person to rule over Russia AND Ukraine die at the same time the relationship between the 2 nations couldn't be worse. To think at the end of the cold war the world was full of visions of a peaceful world free from dictatorships and threats of war - how young and stupid a thought.
-
1 pointNothing for Gorby? I hope you will start a new thread for the next game, and also ask for teams to be PM'd rather than posted openly before the start date. It's better that way as nobody can be influenced by seeing other people's picks.

1 pointDid some digging as this shocked me. I didn't realize how relatively recent Picasso's era was! Not only does he have multiple children alive, but also an ex-partner who is now 100 years old! (Wiki) Françoise Gilot for those interested.
