Spent the past two days browsing the dark corners of the Internet for news on a potential unique of mine (who probably won't even QO), trying to figure out more info on their seemingly advanced cancer, only to find out that it was stage 3a and in remission. There's always room for Bob Barker...

Last night I was with some friends at a dance party (of the rainbow community) and they played her songs "Flashdance... What a feeling" twice and "Fame" once. Those were the right moments to remember Irene Cara and say goodbye to her. 80s legend

Roberto Mancini, the exceptional Italian football player who started his successful professional career at Bologna and widely known for his time at Sampdoria, where he played over 550 matches, is 58 today. Roberto Mancini has reached a legendary status both as a player and as a coach. Patricia McPherson, American television actress who is particularly remembered for her performance of Bonnie Barstow, the qualified mechanic in charge of KITT's care, in the 1980s television series "Knight Rider" from 1982 to 1986, is 68 today. Patricia McPherson retired from acting in the early 90s, her last credited role was in the legal television series "Matlock" in 1991, was fired after the first season. She was convinced to come back for the third season as Bonnie Barstow, and would remain until the end of the popular show in 1986. Patricia McPherson is now part of an environmentalist group.

Biblio gets the final ruling, but as the round setter, eliminating such categories was exactly the intention of the 'competitive' criteria. Lifetime achievement, special award, outstanding contribution - stuff they just give you for being around a long time - are not valid. Got to be won against other nominees. And I'll take this opportunity to say I'm not sure I've ever watched the Brit Awards, I just wanted a music category!

Doddie Weir is a record breaking 18th death for this year's Drop 40. Between possibilities of further deaths like Rolf, and names falling off like Maxwell, strong chance at least half of next year's Drop 40 are fresh faces.

The atmosphere of a silent room with a high-definition flat screen plasma TV must really get some of us excited. Is it those.. timeless films which electrify us or is it that dramatic sporting event which provokes us to rejoice very loudly? Is it CNN or the BBC for news unlimited? Do we prefer a gameshow that gives us the anxiety we need? Have we taken up the concept of Reality TV or do we realize how artificial it is? It might be a documentary or it might be a concert or a parade .. or you might not really watch the TV but you keep it on just to waste time. I watch TV occasionally. I always have this habit of finding an ancient film and then guessing the year it was made.

SCAVENGER HUNT BINGO DEADPOOL RULES Each player picks five selections (and one sub) in each of five categories (for categories see below). There are three ways to win 1. You get at least one hit in each of the five categories 2. You get all five hits in one category 3. You get three unique hits across the whole game. There is no fixed duration you play until there is a winner. In the event of a tie the total number of hits across all categories and after that the number of unique hits. Obits will not be stringent but must be in English and from a News source (not social media). The Game Controller will be checking that picks meet the category criteria at the start of the game but challenges will be accepted during the first two weeks after the full list of entries are published on the forum. In order to ensure that there are no issues with selected names that have died prior to the game beginning each team will need a substitute in each categories. This will come into play if the death of a pick was found to be before the start of the game. Once the game has began a substitute will not invalidate a unique pick but will not count as a unique pick for the player whose substitute it was. A unique pick is considered unique in category. For example if two categories were Conservative MPs and Contestants on Strictly Come Dancing/Dancing with the Stars and three players picked Edwina Curry in the first category and the fourth player picked her in the second category. If she eggspired then Player 4 would get a unique bonus. When a winner is declared the selection of the next categories passes to the victor and they get to select the new categories. The Categories for the fifth game are: 1. Anyone who has appeared (credited) in an episode of Coronation Street (1960-present) 2. Anyone who has win a competitive Brit Award (1977-present) (Popular music only classical Brit awards do not count in this game) 3. Anyone nominated for an acting Oscar (Best actor/actress or Best Supporting actor/actress) 4. Anyone who has started a Formula One World Championship Grand Prix (1950-present) 5. Anybody who has appeared on Time's annual 100 Most Influential People in the World list (2004-present) Teams must be PM’d to avoid revealing those unique picks. There will be a two week period after the lists are published for disputes to be settled people whose picks are removed at this point will be allowed replacements but will not be allowed to select another person's unique pick. Entries close a midnight on 31st December 2022

Jacqueline White, an American actress from the golden age of Hollywood, celebrates her 100th birthday today! I need to check again later but there hasn't been much mention of her on social media, twitter in particular and no happy birthday messages on twitter for her 99th birthday last year. A few mentions of her turning 100 but not as far as I can tell from authoritative accounts as such. I am slightly entertaining speculation that she may have died off radar. I hope not- but anyway as far as I know she is still alive so

Bernadette Meyer delivers a late Daily Double and probably secures 2nd place for me. It was all I could hope for, after stupidly not picking Tom Parker (and so giving away the "youngest hit" bonus"). I'm quite happy with the result though, actually, it's a personal best in all categories. I might have won in a different year, but obviously, Banana is in top form for this. I think the winning margin might end up to be the two names Spiriman and Tom Parker. I already expressed my surprise at Spiriman getting through early in the year, but well, you only succeed if you try, and I guess I didn't try.
