I didn't mean to put any pressure on but there may be a delay in the New Year in getting the teams up whilst I verify them All teams submitted by the deadline will get to play the game It normally takes about 18 months or so anyway so a little bit of delay at the beginning shouldn't be too much of a problem

Oh if only, tv and the media in general is more awash than ever these days with insipid nonentities full of their own importance, all the things on tv VLS used to rail against have seemingly got a thousand times worse; phoney virtue signalling, contempt for the viewers’ intelligence, fascist box-ticking (to quote Mike Leigh) no wonder he gave up the ghost

I would’ve posted in this in the poetry thread but the brief is ‘crap’ poetry. This poem isn’t crap. And, as nurses begin their perfectly justified and easily avoidable strike today, it’s one to keep in mind.

Elisa Montés, the stupendous Spanish film, stage and television actress, the sister of Spanish actresses Emma Penella and Terele Pávez, who took her artistic surname from an opera of her grandfather, Manuel Penella, is 88 today. Her father, the politician Ramón Ruiz Alonso, was involved in the arrest and execution of the excellent Spanish playwright and poet Federico García Lorca. In the 1960s and 1970s, Elisa Montés was especially popular for her starring roles in numerous spaghetti westerns. Edna O'Brien, the distinguished Irish memoirist, novelist, playwright, poet and short-story writer, one of the most talented authors of her generation, who is well-known for her exceptional literary career, is 92 today.

I'm working on it, but I do need a bit more time. Too many pools with the same starting date. Thanks for hosting and running this interesting competition, @Bibliogryphon. Good luck to everyone.

I will be submitting a team. Excited to join my first Scavenger Hunt! Not familiar with the categories so it's slow going, will be relatively soon.

Dilip Kumar's 100th birth anniversary held today. Saira Banu was there and looked fine. Octogenarian/septuagenarian stars Prem Chopra, Asha Parekh, Ramesh Sippy, Dharmendra, Waheeda Rahman and Poonam Sinha were there and looked fine. Farida Jalal, a younger (72) Bollywood star who hasn't made appearances in ages was there and looked a bit frail. No Kamini Kaushal of course.

Season 22 runner up (possibly would've won without punch-gate) Kirstie Alley is the first faller from hers and the final season of Celebrity Big Brother.

Then how come he's only being added now? He's always looked dreadful but presumably there's some reason the committee put him on the list for the first time this year when they've always held back beforehand?

Don't forget The Quiet Earth was based on The World, The Flesh and The Devil. Harry Belafonte is the only one left of the 3 person cast, so one for the extra caric thread.

I wonder if any Halibut leaders will speak out against this nonsense. I don't suppose these idiots care what people in the West think about their homicidal ravings, but I assume some of them do care what their own religious leaders think. Mind you, if their religious leaders are like Pat Robertson...
